Take Note!

PTA Meet & Greet

The Morrisville Elementary School PTA would like a chance to say hello and formally welcome you to Morrisville! The next PTA meeting is this Friday, September 16th @ 8am and we would love for you to join!

Nursery Rhyme Recital

Friday will be our classroom Nursery Rhyme Recital. Don't forget to have your child practicing a nursery rhyme to recite to for Friday! *We ask that you do not come to the classroom to watch. With this being many of the students first time performing in front of a group, we do not want to cause nervousness with extra adults in the room.

  • Top Banana (Letter Names & Sounds)
Practicing letter names and sounds need to be included into your child's nightly routine, if they are not yet a Top Banana.

Here is a great resource for free printable flashcards for uppercase and lowercase letters and more!!!

  • Ball Words (Sight Words)
If your child has received their first list already and are ready to be tested, place the list in the front pocket of their Red Folder with a smiley face somewhere noticeable. Even when progressing to the following lists, all lists should be kept and reviewed throughout the year to increase their fluency!

Please focus on letter sounds before worrying your child with the sight words! :)

  • Library Books
Before guided reading books start coming home, take this opportunity to use the daily library books to practice your child's Print Concepts and Reading Behaviors.

  • Monthly Homework Calendar

Please keep your Homework Calendar somewhere safe. You will need it for the whole month!

Red Folders

It is crucial that someone is checking your child's Red Folder, daily! Important information can easily be missed when this is not happening. The behavior chart should be signed on a daily basis as well. Thank you!!!
