Message about building use and safety guidelines from Buildings and Grounds
As we prepare for the end of the school year and find ourselves with slightly relaxed state mandates, we ask that you all to continue to practice physical distancing within our buildings. This especially includes interacting with families, approaching any kitchens or Student Nutrition staff, or visiting another district building.
As I’m sure you know, physical distancing still requires us to remain at least six feet from one another. Additionally, the Center for Disease Control and Minnesota Department of Health both recommend wearing a mask within six feet of others, both indoors and outdoors, to protect others. Please note that a mask is not a substitute for social distancing when possible. We urge you all to wear one to protect yourself and each other.
As a reminder, due to a lack of widespread testing you might be unknowingly asymptotic and contagious. The virus can spread through the air by simply speaking, let alone coughing or sneezing. Please be considerate of your peers and community and wear a mask!
Here are a few additional reminders:
1. Please wash your hands frequently, each time for 20 seconds with soap and water. Washing with soap and water is very effective for this virus. Please use hand sanitizer only if soap and water are unavailable.
2. Please DO NOT come to school if you are experiencing any respiratory symptoms, have a fever of 100.4 or greater, or have been around anyone who has been known to be infected. If you are unable to report to work due to your symptoms, please contact your supervisor and Human Resources to receive further guidance.
3. When you come to a building, please use the designated main entrance(s) and sign in. Our Buildings and Grounds staff need to know what areas of the building need special attention because of your visit.
Thank you for your vigilance and consideration! If we work together and follow these guidelines we can help keep one another safer.
