English Time!
You're here now
You're a Freshman!
What's new?
Hey. Hey! Good. Now that I have your attention, I'm Britney Georgia. You're in a tight spot now. If you're one to slack off, just scrape by, or lacks motivation, just stop right there! You need to put your heart into your work.
Reading nessessities
Mrs. Allen enjoys the book talks. It's not only a big part of your grade, but is valuable to show the expansion of your reading. Without words, what would we do? If books weren't available, how could we as people write the map of the English language to navigate the world of words put together as an adventure in books. Mrs. Allen tries to let us find our own path through books with independent reading.
What to look forward to!
The Hunger Games
Reading The Hunger Games is exciting. There are games you get to play as you go through the book. You have to keep up the reading though. After you finish reading the book, you get to watch the movie. It's something to look forward to.
The poetry
Poetry is an expression of yourself. If you have something to say, but have trouble speaking your mind, it's sometimes easier to rhyme it. You can let yourself go. Be true to yourself, because that's how poetry works. It is a mirror of your true self, if you accept it
The Odyssey
The Odyssey is one of my favorite books. It's the story of Odysseus as he journeys home after the Trojan War. He is not favored by the God Poseidon, so his path home is troubled because of Poseidon's rage. He also has a bad ego that often gets him and his men into trouble.
Monster
The story is interesting to say the least. You get to read parts of the book aloud as the characters speak, like a play. You get to be a prosecutor or a defendant for the case in the book. You also get to see two sides of a coin in the books. Is the main character- Steve Harmon- guilty or not guilty to you?

- Stick with your friends. Don't be afraid to make new ones, too.
- Don't stress. Everything will work out in the end if you try.
My Opinion About English 9
The Best Part For Me
The poetry is what got me really into the way of English. I always liked rhymes and riddles, so poetry was my best area. I enjoy the release of my thoughts with words, from pen to paper.
Where I Struggled Most
The rhetoric speeches was my weak point. I'm not enthusiastic to listen to people talking. It makes me sleepy and not pay much attention. I still made it through okay though.
My Advice To You
To be successful in English 9, you'll need to listen carefully. If you don't, you will miss important information, a joke, a laugh, or a question on a test. You have to keep up in class, or all too easily you'll fall behind. English 9 with Mrs. Allen can be so much fun, but if you doze off thinking you'll pass easy, you have another thing coming.
