Truman Elementary
GAME ON!
Hope you know just how happy we are that school is starting! Even though we are remote for now, we are thrilled to connect with students to engage in new learning! Please note the schedules for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade below.
Teachers have reached out through the Seesaw app this week to say hello. Contact your child's teacher directly if you are having any difficulty setting up for learning. We hope you and your child are excited to get started next week!
Please make sure to read the latest update from Dr. Migliorino below regarding the district's Back-to-School Plan, which includes an NPS Decision Model for returning to in-person instruction.
We know that beginning the year with remote learning is difficult. We are here to assist you in any way that we can.

Elementary Remote Learning: Schedule Information
Daily schedules have been designed to keep students engaged throughout the school day, without being in front of a screen for hours at a time. Click here to view district-wide remote learning schedules for all grades, as well as videos that provide some helpful information.
Please keep in mind that each teacher’s class may differ slightly, and teachers will communicate directly with students and parents.
It is also important to note that students who are enrolled in full-time virtual learning will not follow the remote learning schedules. Rather, they will receive different schedules from their teachers if they are enrolled in a full-time virtual option.
What does the day look like if my child is enrolled as BLENDED?
At Truman, this means that your child is assigned to two teachers; one is an in-person classroom teacher and the other is the grade level virtual teacher. This ensures that if at some point you want to return to full in-person instruction your child will already have a relationship with that teacher. If, on the other hand, you decide to go completely virtual your child also has a relationship with that teacher. This way we are not starting completely over with someone new.
The remote option gives you the flexibility to be in-person some and to also have the flexibility of the virtual instruction.
What does it look like if my child is enrolled as VIRTUAL/NPS Teacher?
The teacher will be reaching out at least once a week to check in with your child, and they will have office hours daily for student or parent questions. Some small group times may be set by the virtual teacher for additional support.
For Those Checking Out NPS Devices for Remote Learning...
You should NOT sign in to iCloud...everything you need will be on the NPS Kiosk (red icon pictured here), which is an app on the iPad. The Kiosk is updated periodically with new applications students will need. Please do NOT put a passcode or log into iCloud, as that will make the devices inoperable when they return to NPS.
If your student is following the traditional model, he/she should bring the iPad to school on all days of in-person instruction.
