Final Opportunity to Register for 2022-23 GCS Virtual Program
Greenville County students/parents have a final opportunity to enroll in our district's full-time Virtual Program. Registration for the 2022-23 GCS Virtual Program opened on Monday, May 2nd and will continue through 5:00 PM on Friday, May 13th. To register, students must be enrolled in Greenville County Schools and parents must have a BackPack account. The Virtual Program will not be offered for Specialized/Magnet programs such as Charles Townes Center, Language Immersion and preschool programs. For the most intensive special education services, which is typically referred to as self-contained programming, an IEP meeting will need to be held in order to determine if a student can receive a Free and Appropriate Education in the Virtual Program.
Students accepted into the virtual program for the 2022-2023 school year will not be eligible for magnet academies or change in assignment choice. If a student is approved for a magnet or choice slot after being accepted in the virtual program, parents must state their intent by the deadline or forfeit their choice/magnet slot.

2022 Relay for Life
Relay for Life is an annual fundraising walk designed to celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers, remember those who have passed away, and raise money for cancer research and programs through the American Cancer Society. This year's event will be on Saturday May 21, at Eastside High School from 6:00-10:00pm. We invite our Sterling family and community to join us at this fun and meaningful event!
Each year, Sterling/CTC has a Relay for Life Team made up of mostly students with Mrs. Henry serving as Team Captain. Friends and families of students are also encouraged to join our team. If you or a family member are a Cancer Survivor, you may sign up for our team without the commitment of fundraising and are invited to enjoy a complimentary dinner at this year's event.
Please consider joining our team or making a donation. Additionally, you may dedicate a Luminaria to a lost loved one, someone currently battling, or anyone who's overcome cancer. Luminarias are $10/each and can be decorated in Honor or Memory of your loved one. Please contact Mrs. Henry for additional details on how to purchase and personalize Luminarias.
This year's Sterling/CTC Relay for Life Team dedicates their efforts in memory of Jane Stelling, beloved teacher and friend.
2022 Parent's School Climate Survey
The 2022 Parent’s School Climate Survey Link (formerly known as the Parent Report Card Opinion Surveys) is available on the Home Dashboard of the Parent Backpack. Parent responses from the survey are reported on district and/or school report cards. We encourage all parents across all grade levels of our school to participate. Thank you in advance for your time and feedback! We appreciate our families and consider it a tremendous honor to partner! The parent survey window is open now through May 27, 2022.
Calling All Graduates: Griffin Walk 2022
As students leave Sterling School, they participate in a Griffin Walk. If you have a child who is a former student of Sterling School and graduating from H.S. this year, or know of someone you can pass this on to, we would appreciate your help in rounding up our former Griffins to participate once again.
Griffin Walk 2022 will take place Friday, June 3rd @ 11:00am. We invite all high school graduates who attended Sterling School to join us! Any participating graduate should RSVP and bring their cap, gown, and other graduation regalia, or wear their college t-shirt. We ask any of our special guests to sign-in our main office by 10:45am. Having our former students participate in this tradition serves to inspire our younger "Griffins" to remain focused in their own academic journey. Please submit this form by Wednesday, June 1st.

Thank you & April Arts 2023
We would like to give a HUGE "Thank You" and "Shout Out" to the community, parents and volunteers that participated, organized, and helped in any way with April Arts this year. This collaborative team event would not have been possible without all of your support!
Believe it or not, we are already making plans for next year. Please see the following image for our 2023 April Arts Theme Announcement!
Faculty & Staff of the Month!
Congratulations to Mr. Brandon Smith (Staff) and Mrs. Linda Reynolds (Faculty) for their recent selection as our school's Faculty/Staff Member of the Month!
Mr. Brandon serves our school as one of our custodians. This is what our faculty/staff had to say about Mr. Brandon: "Brandon always has a smile! He keeps my room neat and clean and always has a kind word or something to say to make me laugh. Brandon is such a positive spirit. He does an amazing job keeping our school clean and welcoming. He is always willing to go that extra mile in making Sterling a great place to be."
Mrs. Reynolds is the Program Coordinator for the Charles Townes Center. "Mrs. Reynolds always strives to make our school a better place for students and staff. She does an amazing job coordinating information, overseeing school tours, and supporting the transition for incoming CTC families. She always goes above and beyond for everyone. Mrs. Reynolds embodies what school spirit looks like and truly wants the best for our school!"
They are both wonderful examples of what makes our school special and unique! #ReImagine #WholeChild
