What's New In Hamilton Township?
The counselors were asked a few questions and they politely answered. Let's give a warm welcome to our newest Mercer County Counselors of Hamilton Township!
Ms. Caitlin Larkin!
What is your happiest memory? For many years, my family and I went to Spring Break in Disney World for my birthday, which definitely one of my happiest memories.
What challenges do you think you will face this year as a new counselor? I think some challenges I will face this year will include: learning about the different procedures I have to follow, situations with children that I am unfamiliar with how to handle, and learning how to manage my time effectively to get everything done that I need to do.
What do you like to do for fun? I like to spend my free time at the beach during the summer and also spending time with my friends and family.
What do you look forward to most being a part of MCPCA? I am looking forward to learning about many different topics related to counseling that at this time I feel unfamiliar with. I am excited to be gaining many resources.
Ms. Lauren Baldasari!
Did you always want to be a school counselor? No.
What do you like to do for fun? Hiking, reading, cooking, baking, anything outside really
What challenges do you think you will face this year as a new counselor? I'm transitioning to elementary from the high school level, so I'm learning the ins and outs of the differences in the roles, and of course, how to tailor the work to different developmental levels. Classroom management with the younger kids is very different too, and so I'm trying out different strategies there. The Kindergarten classes have given me a run for my money though, in that department :)
What do you look forward to most being a part of MCPCA? Professional development and networking. It seems like MCPCA has a lot of valuable resources for new counselors whether it's the website, workshops, or just access to the brains and experiences of its members.
Ms. Constance Koutsouradis!
What challenges do you think you will face this year as a new counselor? Adapting to a new environment, with its unique way of operating is never easy. Lucky for me, I'm always up for a challenge! My goal is to do everything I can to assist the students, parents, faculty, and staff of Nottingham.
Did you always want to be a school counselor? No.
What is your happiest memory? Disney World in 2007! I was a freshman at Hamilton High School West. The Hornet Marching Band flew to Florida to play down Main Street. I spent five days with all my friends in the happiest place on earth!
What do you look forward to most being a part of MCPCA? Professional development and learning from my colleagues in the field.
What do you like to do for fun? Sing! Karaoke. In my church choir. In my car! Wherever :)
