Kansas City Global Student Fair

EPiC Studio 3

Kansas City Global Student Fair

Wednesday, April 13th, 9:15am-12:30pm

30 West Pershing Road

Kansas City, MO

Background

In 2016, People to People International (PTPI), an international nonprofit organization, will celebrate 60 years of fostering cross-cultural understanding through educational, cultural, and humanitarian initiatives worldwide. To celebrate and to give back to the community where PTPI has been headquartered since the 1960s, PTPI will host a fair for local students to showcase just how international Kansas City is.

Elementary-School Program Goals

  • To introduce students to the diversity of their community
  • To introduce students to a wide range of cultures and perspectives
  • To support students’ development of global awareness and cultural competence through new experiences

How the Event Will Work

Students will visit a series of booths to learn about global and cultural themes from the variety of businesses, organizations, and community groups in attendance.

Chaperoning

We would love to be able to allow students to travel in groups of 2-3 on this day and therefore, we need as many chaperones as possible! If you are interested in chaperoning please sign up below. Chaperones will be asked to meet us at EPiC at 9:15 for a short meeting. Chaperones will need to follow the bus.

Lunch & Snacks

We will eat lunch in our classroom when we return to EPiC at approximately 12:30. Students will need to bring a lunch from home on this day. Also, due to the later lunch period, we encourage students to bring a snack to take with them on the trip.
