KA Teachers!
Ms. Perez
Hello, my name is Deanna Perez; I am a kindergarten teacher this year in KA. I am so excited to meet you and your children!
For my undergraduate degree, I attended Hamilton College. After which I received my M.E.T. from the Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education in Boston. I moved to New York and taught Kindergarten in Harlem, before coming here to Brooklyn Prospect. I love teaching math, and reading fantasy books! On the weekends I enjoy going to the movie theater, playing pick-up soccer, and getting together with friends. I cannot live without a hot cup of coffee and a quick visit to see my family and our two family dogs!
I am thrilled to be joining the Prospector team and I look forward our journey together this year!
Thank you!
It was so lovely meeting all of you today. Thank you for a fantastic day, we are looking forward to the year!
Ms. Tyrell
Hello KA families,
As the new school year gets underway I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is Yolande Tyrell and I have been teaching young children for the past 22 years.
I worked as a Montessori teacher for 20 years and is beginning my second year at Brooklyn Prospect Charter School. I am very excited to meet you all and looking forward to building strong relationships with the students. Teaching children gives me joy and I am very passionate about helping them enjoy learning as well as spark curiosity in their minds.
I have 4 daughters and 3 grand children whom I enjoy spending quality time with. I look forward to reading and playing with to my grand daughter who is 1 year old, and making crafts, and experiments with my grandsons. I love traveling to different countries and try to take at least 1 cruise per year. In my spare time I enjoy sewing, crocheting and just using my hands to create things.
Nancy Jacobs
Hello! My name is Nancy Jacobs. This is my first year as an official employee of BPCS, but your child may know me as the lady that read aloud to her class when she was in first grade. After volunteering for three years, I am thrilled to join this amazing school community as a Learning Specialist.
I have a Masters in K-6 Elementary Education from Hunter College, and have taught both second and third grades here in New York. After having spent years at home raising my two boys, it is a pleasure to return to teaching.
My role here at BPCS will be collaborating with our school’s learning specialists in supporting your children’s literacy success. Along with the all of my colleagues, I am looking forward to meeting (or becoming reaquainted with) your children, and helping them along the path to finding joy in reading.
I can be reached at njacobs@brooklynprospect.org Please feel free to reach out to me at anytime.
Sincerely,
Nancy
