NMS Class of 2023
Important Information for 8th Grade Parents and Students
8th Grade Fee Balance
Any eighth grade student who owes registration fee(s), school fee(s), chromebook fee(s), lost book(s), lock(s), etc. should pay those fees by Monday, May 15th in order for your child to participate in the end of the year 8th grade activities. Balance statements can be found online in PowerSchool Parent Portal. Students can turn payment in at the main office. Please contact the school office with questions about your fees.
8th Grade Promotion
Our 8th-grade Promotion Ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, May 25, 2023. The ceremony will take place in the football stadium at Woodstock North High School. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved into the Main Gym at WNHS. The ceremony usually lasts approximately one hour. Please use the same attire as specified for the eighth grade dance above.
We ask that you sit in the stadium (first come, first serve). Limited seating will be available for adults who find it difficult to use the bleachers, or to those who may need special accommodations. We ask that the audience remains seated until the end of the event and all students have been recognized.
The Northwood staff is looking forward to sharing this special event with our eighth grade students and their families!
8th Grade Dance
We ask that students “dress-up” for this dance, but the dance should not be thought of as a prom. Tuxedos and formal dresses are not appropriate.
Students are able to bring their phones to take pictures. We discourage students from having a “date” for the dance; however, we encourage all 8th-grade students to attend.
Students must be in school the entire day on this day to attend the dance in the evening.
Dance invitations will be coming home with your student soon!
