Come See Gananda High School Drama Club Perform "Mamma Mia!" What do you do when your daughter's three possible dads show up on the eve of her wedding? You sing and dance to a dozen ABBA tunes! Ruben A. Cirillo High School Drama Club invites you to join in on this high-energy celebration of life, love and friendship. You'll laugh, you may shed a tear, but mostly you'll want to dance in the aisle! Shows are scheduled for Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 7 at 1:30pm. Admission is $8 per person or $7 for students and seniors. Please note: this show contains some adult humor and themes and is recommended for ages 13+.	Community Film Screening To Be Held March 27 Gananda Central School District and Wayne County Partnership for Strengthening Families are joining together to bring a free film screening of the movie "Resilience" to parents and community members. Please join us for this one hour movie discussing the challenges childhood adversity can lead to later in life and steps that can be made while children are young to help mitigate the effects of adversity. After the viewing, a panel discussion will follow and refreshments will be provided.	Gananda's UPK and and Kindergarten Registration Gananda's Pre-K and Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is now open. All students currently enrolled in Gananda's UPK program will roll-over to the next level (ie - current UPK 3's to UPK 4 and current UPK 4's to Kindergarten)unless we are notified otherwise. Registration packets are now available.

Reminder: The elementary bus loop is unavailable for student pick up or drop off

As a reminder, elementary students will no longer be able to be in the bus loop in the front of Richard Mann Elementary at any time when school is in session. Due to the number of busses we have going in and out of the bus loop with the addition of UPK, cars are no longer be able to pick up or drop off students in the main bus loop. As you face the main entrance of Richard Mann Elementary, the small bus loop to the left of the building's main entrance can be used for student pick up and drop off. We have staff assisting students in the small bus loop at arrival and dismissal for those not utilizing bus transportation.

Gananda Community Youth Theatre presents the Wizard of Oz

We're off to see the Wizard! Gananda Community Youth Theatre proudly presents the Wizard of Oz featuring grades 1-4! There will be two performances held at the Gananda Middle School: Saturday, March 30th at 1pm and Sunday, March 31st at 1pm. Tickets can be purchased for $8 at https://GCYT.yapsody.com or at the door. We hope to see you there!

Petitions Now Available for the Gananda Central School District Board of Education Seats

Candidates interested in running for a seat on the Gananda Central School District Board of Education can now pick up their petition form. Petitions are available by printing the form from our website, by requesting one in-person in the District Office located in Gananda Middle School at 1500 Dayspring Ridge, Walworth between 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., or by calling the District Clerk at 986-3521 ext. 8-4313 to request one. All petitions must be filed no later than Monday, April 22, 2019 at 5:00 P.M.

Strategic Plan Surveys Coming Soon!

Gananda Central School District is nearing the halfway mark for the 5-year strategic plan which will conclude in June of 2021. As such, we will be sending out survey questions to all of our students, staff, parents, and community members to gather input as to the progress we have made so far. Be on the look out for emails in the coming weeks about participation in the surveys.

Daddy/Daughter Dance Pop Up Sale.

On Saturday March 30 from 830-10am tickets will be sold at the Richard Mann playground. You can purchase the Paris package for $45 which includes the dance, mini mani pedi, updo and a personalized oo la la bag. Or purchase al carte for $25 dance, $5 mini mani pedi $10 up do and $15 for the oo la la bag. Payment can be made by either cash, credit or check.Tickets will be sold next week as well. Gananda Boys Lacrosse Yeti Raffle

Support the boys lacrosse team by purchasing a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Yeti cooler and other products! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from Coach Sidari or any parent of a high school boys lacrosse player. Tickets will also be available to purchase during home JV and Varsity boys lacrosse games. The drawing will be held on April 30 during the halftime of the senior night game vs Waterloo. Contact Joe Sidari at jsidari@gananda.org for more information.

Gananda PTO Meeting

Gananda PTO will meetings will be held the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm for the remainder of the school year. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2.

The meeting will be located at the middle school cafeteria from 7:00pm-8:00pm.

Discussions will include upcoming volunteer and committee opportunities.

All interested parents, administrators, faculty, and staff are welcome.

Support for Mr. Flansburg

We are keeping Mr. Flansburg and his family in our thoughts as he begins his courageous battle with lung cancer. A gofundme page has been set up to help with his medical costs if anyone is interested in offering support.

#Outstanding Congratulations to 5th grader, Jenna Giles, for winning the Wayne-Finger Lakes Regional Spelling Bee at Hobart and William Smith Colleges this past weekend. Jenna will be moving on to the #NationalSpellingBee competition in National Harbor, Maryland in May. In addition, congratulations to 6th grader, Kierra King for finishing in 4th place in the regional competition! And last, but not least, thank you to 6th grader, Sydney Richards, for supporting both ladies as an alternate in the regional competition. We are #GanandaProud of each of you! 3 Main Types of Headaches Include:

1. Tension - a tension headache is characterized by dull pressure or tightness on both sides of the head and sometimes on the neck. Tension headaches are usually caused by stress and poor posture.

2. Migraine - characterized by moderate to severe throbbing in the head. Migraines often come coupled with more severe symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting; sensitivity to light, sound or smell; and increased pain with everyday activities.

3. Cluster - Sharp, severe pain that develops rapidly over a short period of time. These headaches are usually located in the eye region and can last anywhere from 15 minutes to hours. Pain may be accompanied by other symptoms, including nasal congestion, tearing up in one eye, eye redness and irritability

If you suffer persistent pain from these types of headaches or others, consult with your doctor for treatment.
