Google Announces Fact Check Feature
Thousands of new articles are published online every minute of the day. Google has just released a "Fact Check" tag that identifies articles with information that has been examined by news publishers and fact-checking organizations. When completing a Google search, you may now see fact check information, including who made the claim and their conclusion about the article.
Earth Day Videos
Edutopia has compiled 5 videos to kickstart your Earth Day lessons and get your students thinking about what they can do to make a difference in the world. They have also gathered various Earth Day lesson plans, classroom ideas, and reading lists here. Finally, check out this Earth Week Choice Board, shared by Allison Sobotka (Franklin ITC). Feel free to make a copy and make changes, as you see fit.
AutoDraw
I just stumbled upon this awesome tool called AutoDraw. While creating a freehand sketch with the AutoDraw pen, the program makes suggestions of doodles you may want to include. With the click of a button, you can change your quick sketch into a neat image. Tracie Thomas thinks this would be a great tool for teachers who are creating common assessment questions that require shapes and images!
Google's Buried Treasures
Check out 18 of Google's hidden tricks and tools!
Upcycled Crafts
Check out this great collection of crafts that can be made from recycled materials! Some great ideas for an Earth Day project! Thanks for sharing, Beth Rihtar (Field ITC)!
Back Up Your Computer!
Washington teachers, please remember to back up your computers as soon as possible, in preparation for your new devices.
We ask that you please complete the backup by May 19!
Files and folders that exist on your desktop computer and MacBook (Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Music, etc.) must be backed up before handing in your old devices.
