Family Relationships Survey
In an effort to help us continually elevate your child’s educational experience, I encourage you to take our annual Family-School Relationships Survey! The survey is specific for our school and will help us know where we are succeeding and where we can improve.
The survey is open now to Feb. 16, 2024 and is completely anonymous.
The survey is expected to take between 5-10 minutes and can be taken in English, Spanish or ten other languages on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
If you have children at different schools, we encourage you to fill out a survey for each school.
Survey data is benchmarked nationally and compared to the Five Star staff and student survey to create a comprehensive understanding of the school’s culture and climate. Survey results will be made available to families by the end of the school year.
Schools who get the most response receive prize money so please take the time to complete this quick survey. Thank you in advance for taking this important survey as we work together to continue to elevate the way we serve your child in every classroom, every day.
Student Panorama Survey - Coming Soon
Cherry Drive students will receive the Panorama survey on Monday 02/12 or Tuesday 02/13, during class time.
What does the survey ask?
This survey asks questions about:
How well students think they are able to persevere through setbacks to achieve their goals
How well students believe they can manage their emotions
How confident students are in their ability to succeed in school
How students feel about their school’s social and learning environment
How valued students feel in their school community
If you want to see the exact questions in the survey, please click the following links:
Who can see my child’s responses?
A small number of staff members will be able to view students' answers. Over the course of the school year, these staff members may review this information to help them better serve students as they interact with them as part of their normal work (i.e. counselor check-ins with students in ninth grade).
The staff members who will be able to see students’ answers are: District & school administrators, School counselors, Mental health providers, Social emotional learning specialists & Your child’s teacher(s). If you want to see your child’s responses on this survey, please contact our school mental health team or school counseling team. Molly Fryer: Social Emotional Learning Specialist.
How will you use this information?
We will use responses to this survey to explore trends and patterns across our school that will inform how we approach social and emotional wellbeing for all students. Specific student answers will help us better serve students as part of our support and check-in processes. For example, all sixth grade students have a check-in with their counselor to help make sure they are transitioning successfully from elementary to middle school. Their counselor might look at this information and use it to guide their conversations.
Opt out information
If you do not want your child to complete this survey, please complete the opt out form here.
We are excited to learn more about the social-emotional needs of our students in order to provide them with the best possible educational experience.
Student Led Parent Conferences
Our second semester conferences will take place on Thursday, February 15th from 3-6pm. The format is different this year as they are student-led, which means the student is the one sharing their progress and work accomplishments with the teacher playing more of a supportive role. Sign up for a 45 minute slot HERE. You do not have to come right at the start of your window. Student-led conferences should last about 15-20 minutes and families can drop in anytime within their 45 minute timeframe.
