Religion controlled and decided the activities in their daily lives. In Egypt, people had beliefs in many different gods and goddesses. That means they were polytheistic. Writing changed the way business dealings were done and how records were kept. They invented a writing system to record history called hieroglyphics. Architecture influenced the their studies of mathematics, science, and engineering. The ancient Egyptians built many pyramids as tombs for their pharaohs. Innovations helped create more specialization of labor and create a wider space between social classes. They created a calendar based on the flooding of the Nile. This helped them know when to plant and when to harvest. Achievements helped create a more complicated and elaborate economy and military. The greatest achievement of the ancient Egyptians were the pyramids. They were huge structures that had to be carefully planned. These are all examples of the ancient Egyptian’s culture. The cultural developments made the greatest impact on the people of the River Valley Civilizations.
