Define:
The government payed farmers to leave a certain amount of every acre of land unused/unseeded. The over all goal was to reduce the supply of crops in order to boost prices.
Characteristics
The government paid cotton growers $200 million to plow under 10 million acres of cotton and also paid hog farmers to slaughter 6 million pigs.
