MLK Jr. Poster Contest ~ TIME SENSITIVE

Please see the directions below!

Music Reminders

It's going to be a busy week for the kids who play instruments. They need to bring them Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Monday and Friday, band and orchestra ensembles will rehearse. Lessons are on Wednesday.

Tuesday will be the final day of chorus. The kids will meet to watch their December performance.

We finished crayfish and snail unit before we left for the holiday break. For five days we observed the crayfish's location within the tank to determine if any of them were territorial. Through those days, two of the crayfish were always together and no crayfish were ever found under the circle house.

Check out the picture below of the snail pull! Don't worry, the snail was never in danger. We concluded that the snail is VERY strong despite its size. I love when we can bring theme into science instruction.

Big picture

Mrs. Close's Class ~ We finished Module 3 before break. There is still a test or two that needs to be completed. Look for your child's test to be returned this week. We'll begin Module 4 this week. The first part of this 20-day module introduces points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles, as well as the relationships between them.

Mrs. Gleason's Class ~ The class is dividing! The class took a quiz, and they did awesome with 2-digit dividends. This week they will be dividing 3 & 4-digit dividends. Keep studying those facts. Those kids who are struggling with their multiplication facts had a more difficult time learning to divide.

Mr. Hart's Class ~ We are going to spend our first day back reviewing multiplying by single digit and double digit numbers. We will then return to our lessons on division. My hope is that we will finish up with module three by the end of next week. As always any help you can give your child with their basic facts would be greatly appreciated.
