Varsity and JV Softabll
April 3, 2018- The Panther JV won vs Kerrville 8-3. Makenzee DeCock was the winning pitcher for the Panthers who came in relief for Allyssa Thoele. The Panthers play and error free ball game and racked up 7 hits for the game. Katie Burris went 2 for 3 at the plate.
Varsity rallied back from behind in the 7th inning to score 4 runs but it was not enough to defeat Kerrville Tivy. Panthers lost 7-5 despite racking up 10 hits. Christine Tschirhart, Madison Winecoff, and Ariel Montgomery all had multiple hits. Montgomery went 3 for 3 at the plate.
March 23, 2018- The Panther JV shut out Alamo Heights 13-0. Makenzee DeCock was the winning pitcher for the Panthers. The Panthers Collected 16 hits for the game.
The Panther JV orange also traveled to the Cibolo Steele tournament and claimed 2nd place falling to Southwest Legacy 6-3
Varsity also competed on Friday vs Alamo Heights claiming a 4-0 victory over the Alamo Height Mules. The panthers collected 12 hits, Emily Friesenhahn led the Panthers with 3 hits in the game.

March 23, 2018- The Varsity Baseball Squad took on the Lockhart Lions Friday night. The Panthers took it to the Lions beating them 11-1 in 5 innings. The winning pitcher was Garrett Leggitt. He pitched a complete game gem.
Charlie Marsh drove in four runs off three hits including a triple and a double. Cole Modgling, Devon McCluskey and Cody Rutherford all added two hits to the cause.
March 20, 2018- The Varsity Baseball team traveled to Seguin for a district matchup. The Panthers prevailed 8-2 behind another strong pitching performance by Devon McCluskey. At the plate Cole Modgling, Cole Steubing, and Dylan Fillinger had two hits each to lead the Panther attack. The boys are 9,3, and 1 overall and 2 and 2 in district.
JV Baseball-Black
March 20, 2018- The JV Black hosted the Seguin Matadors. Mason Doyon gave a great performance on the mound allowing zero runs, striking out 12, and only allowing 2 hits as the Panthers bested the Matadors by a score of 11-0. JJ Marty paced the Panthers offensively by going 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and scoring twice himself.
March 13, 2018- After getting off to a 1-1-1 start to the season, the Panthers JV Black team took on 2 district opponents during the week of Spring Break. On Tuesday March 13th, the JV Black took on Marble Falls Mustangs. Despite some mental lapses defensively that allowed the Mustangs to score 6 runs in the 3rd inning and take a short lived 6-5 lead; the panthers’ bats were red hot the entire game. Offensively, the Panthers scored in every inning, defeating the mustangs by 10 runs, 17 -7 in 6 innings. Dawson Groff pitched 4 innings for the victory, and Garrett Kanak came in for 1 inning to finish off the game. Offensively the Panthers were led by Mason Doyon. He went 3 for 4 at the plate, scored 4 runs, and collected 3 RBI’s.
March 15, 2018- The JV Black Panthers traveled to Kerrville to battle the Tivy Antlers. Zack Hecker had an outstanding performance on the mound. He battled the Antlers for 5 innings and did not give up an earned run. However, defensively the Panthers struggled committing 8 errors, which lead to a 4-8 loss. JJ Marty paced the Panthers offensively going 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI. Wesley Pardo scored 2 runs, and Aaron Sotelo added an RBI.

The JV Orange Team had a rough beginning to the season earning a record of 0-3 with a tough game vs. Schertz Clemens, and one run losses to both Central Catholic and Boerne Champion.
March 20, 2018- The JV Orange Panthers and the Seguin Matadors faced each other on Tuesday March 20th. Tanner Haby pitched an excellent game for the Panthers. He pitched 4 tough innings and kept the Panthers within striking distance the entire game. In the bottom of the last inning the Panthers fought and scratched to get a few runs across the plate but could get enough going to overcome mistakes from early in the game and fell to the Matadors 5 – 8.
March 15, 2018- The JV Orange traveled to Kerrville to battle the Antlers. The Panthers jumped out to an early 5 -0 lead with Jared LaQue pitching for the young Panthers. The Antlers regrouped and began chipping away at the lead, eventually tying the game 7-7. In extra innings Tanner Haby scored on a passed ball giving the Panthers the lead for good. Tyler Mangum took the mound in relief and struck out the last two Tivy batters with bases loaded to earn the save and preserve the win for the Panthers.

March 29, 2018- Panther Tennis had another successful tennis tournament. This past Thursday, the team traveled to San Marcos and faced some of the toughest competition of the season. In boys doubles, Garret Kanak and Max Leal earned 2nd place, Logan Lyssy and Josh Osterhout earned 4th. In girls doubles, Audrey Bell and Taylor DeWitt fought hard to win 3rd place. Both mixed doubles teams earned medals as well. Tyler Oberhauser and Allie Tschirhart beat Brennan to win 3rd place and Emma Hecker and Caytan Chang beat East Central to win 3rd place. The team competes in the District Tournament on Friday, April 6. Good luck Panthers!
March 23, 2018- The Varsity Tennis team competed in the Uvalde Pre-District Tournament this past Friday and Saturday. It was another successful tournament for the Panthers as they placed 3rd overall as a team. Individual places were as follows:

March 2, 2018- The JV Freshman tennis team traveled to East Central HS to compete in the Cecil Vasquez Invitational In boys singles, Thomas Ellison advanced to the consolation finals a had a tough battle that ended 7-9. In girls doubles, Faith Martinez & Carolyn Chao had a great first round win of 9-7 but fell in the second round to a tough east central team. In boys doubles, Joaquin Arguelles & Logan Echtle had a great first win in the main draw 8-4 and fell in the second round to a Macarthur team. Liam Persyn & Connor Phalan found the main draw to be tough with a 2-8 loss but in consolation, they came up with their first win of 8-6 which put them in the semis. In mixed doubles, Sara Beth Beasley & Orlando Santos, had a tough first-round loss of 7-9 only to battle back in the consolation bracket with an 8-5 win over East Central, an 8-3 win over Southwest and end with a 4-8 loss to Judson in the finals.
The varsity tennis team traveled to Kerrville to compete in the Antler Invitational. Every player had some great matches. In boys singles, Logan Lyssy and Sean Oberhauser beat Warren and Brackenridge to advance to consolation finals where they played an incredible match. Caytan Chang and Isaiah Mellon beat Harlan to advance to the semi-finals of consolation. Garrett Kanak and Max Leal beat Clark to advance through the main draw. In girls singles, Audrey Bell and Taylor DeWitt beat Del Rio to advance to the semi-finals of consolation. Madalyne Villarreal and Hannah Tschirhart had a close match against Harlan in the quarterfinals of consolation. In boys singles, Josh Osterhout and Tyler Oberhauser both advanced to the semi-finals of consolation by beating East Valley and Boerne.

The Girls Golf Team competed in their district tournament this week at The Golf Club of Texas. The girls shot a season low two-day total of 709, finishing the tournament in 4th place. The girls fought hard in the tough conditions to finish just 30 strokes from advancing to regionals.
Sophomore Gabriela McNelly turned in a career low 2 day total of 146. Earning first place individually and a bid to regionals. She finished 9 strokes ahead of any other competitor. Gabby carded a first round score of 68, 4 under par. It was the low score of the day by 13 strokes! She finished the round without making a single bogey. Her hard work all year has really paid off. We are extremely proud of her!
Senior Katie Scheiber finished the tournament in 18th place out of 45. Her second round score of 87 was a career low. She has really come a long way since learning the game her freshman year. It was an awesome way to finish out her career.
Senior Stephanie Vela finished the tournament in 26th place. Her first round score of 92 was a season low. Stephanie lettered all four years of her high school career. Stephanie and Katie will be extremely tough to replace next year.
Congratulations on a great year girls! Please come out and support Gabriela McNelly at regionals April 4th and 5th at the Golf Club of Texas.

March 27, 2018- On Tuesday March 27th the Boys 8th Grade Medina Valley Panthers participated in the running events of the District Track Meet in Kerrville, currently the Panthers are positioned in 1st place with 150 points. Field event competition were postponed for weather and safety concerns, and will be completed on Friday April 6, in Kerrville as well.
