Daniel Wright Junior High School E-Notice - May 28, 2021

Eighth-Grade Graduation Information

Eighth-grade graduation rehearsal will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Stevenson High School. Students should be dropped off at the Football Stadium for graduation practice and the evening ceremony. More specifically, Parking Lot E, is where students should be dropped off. D103 will NOT be providing busing to rehearsal and students are responsible for their own transportation; via car, biking, and/or walking. The Graduation Rehearsal will end at 11:30 a.m. and students can be picked up at the entrance to the Stevenson football stadium.

On Wednesday, June 2, Stevenson High School Stadium gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for families. Wristbands are required for entry and guests will check in at the main gate. Please visit the DW main office on Tuesday, June 1 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. if you have not requested or received your graduation ceremony wristbands (tickets).

Under COVID guidelines, general bleacher seating for the outdoor ceremony can accommodate up to four guests per student. Procedures are in place to facilitate contact tracing and ensure the safety of our families. Each family will have uniquely numbered wristbands and contact information has been collected during the RSVP process. D103 staff members will confirm attendees on the master RSVP list as they enter the stadium, ensure appropriate mask wearing, and ask COVID screening questions.

Open seating is available in both sets of bleachers. Groups of four will be marked on the bleacher seats to allow for families to be safely distanced from others. For these reasons, community members should not give unneeded tickets to other families and the DW office will not maintain a waiting list and/or grant requests for additional tickets.

Students should arrive at the Stevenson High School Stadium no later than 6:00 p.m. on June 2. Students should line up with their presenter on the track in the North side of the stadium.

DW Graduation Aerial Map

Students will proceed forward in two lines from the northern goal post. Parents should consider sitting in the bleachers on the same side as their child’s procession line for the best photographic opportunity. This document indicates which line your child will proceed into the stadium for the DW Graduation Procession Lines.

Diplomas will be given in alphabetical order by PRESENTER, not by the student’s last name. Please review this order of diplomas at DW Graduation Order of Diplomas.

To prevent damage to the turf field, NO high heels will be allowed.

Masks are required to be worn by graduates while in line and seated. Students may remove their masks when walking across the stage.

As a reminder, for inclement weather the graduation ceremony will move indoors to the Performing Arts Center and ONLY staff and students will be allowed to attend. A livestream of the ceremony can be accessed by friends and family worldwide via any internet connection; the entire program will last approximately 90 minutes. Live streaming will take place on our D103 YouTube Channel.

If you have any questions or concerns about the DW graduation please reach out to Gayathri Kalyanaraman at gkalyanaraman@d103.org or call her at 847-295-1560 .

Auction for Reserved Graduation Seating

The D103 Music Boosters is offering a D103 Eighth-Grade VIP Ticket Auction for parents who have already received graduation wristbands and would like to trade them in for reserved seating. Currently eighth-grade graduation seating will be on a first come, first family basis so this is your opportunity to secure "saved" seating, and use the 'fast pass line.'

Winners will have to turn in the graduation wristbands the school issued in order to receive the winning auction wristbands for reserved seating. The D103 Eighth-Grade VIP Ticket Auction closes at 9 p.m. Monday, May 31.

Should the graduation move indoors auction winners will have their money refunded.
