Lucas Letter

In the morning announcements on Thursday, I shared my love for the song "Saying Goodbye" in the movie "The Muppets Take Manhatten." The lyrics of this song perfectly express how leaving Highcroft feels for me. Below, I share the song's lyrics and for the students, the clip from the movie. I have enjoyed serving the students, staff, and stakeholders of this community! I wish each of you good health and much success! You're in my heart, so until then...

Saying goodbye
Going away
Seems like goodbye's such a hard thing to say
Touching a hand
Wondering why
It's time for saying goodbye

Saying goodbye
Why is it sad?
Makes us remember the good times we've had
Much more to say
Foolish to try
It's time for saying goodbye

Don't want to leave
But we both know
Sometimes it's better to go
Somehow I know we'll meet again
Not sure quite where
And I don't know just when

You're in my heart
So until then
Wanna smile
Wanna cry
Saying goodbye
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
It's time for saying goodbye

Be well!

Muppets Saying Goodbye

Thank You!

Thank you to all of the teachers and staff who were able to volunteer their time to help return students' belongings on Thursday and Friday. We could not have accomplished this task without their support!

The following is from Helen Humphreys, Co-Founder of the 10,000 Pencils Foundation:

Thank you all for your support of the 10k Pencils Organization, and for donating to the collection at the end of a very strenuous school year! We know more families will need our assistance in the upcoming school year due to our current circumstances, and we genuinely appreciate your support.

Enjoy your summer!
