A Note from the Principal
The weather is getting warmer, the flowers will soon begin to bloom, and our Easter break is another week away. Soon we will celebrate the most important day in our lives as Christians. Easter is a day of celebration because it represents the fulfillment of our faith as Christians.
On Holy Thursday, we will have our K-8 retreat which has been a tradition here at Saint Paschal Baylon for many years. We will begin the day in Church for morning prayer, travel to different classroms/stations according to grade level bands, and then end our day with the Living Stations of the Cross presented by our Youth Group. This is always a wonderful day of reflection and prayer as we await the risen Christ.
As we enter this most Holy Week, we are commemorating Jesus' last week on earth and the events leading up to his resurrection on Easter Sunday. As a family, please consider joining our parish for one of the events during the Sacred Triduum.
Peace and blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal
Ms. Evamarie Mickol Selected as the 2022 Distinguished Graduate
We are proud to announce that Ms. Evamarie Mickol will be honored this year as the Distinguished Graduate of 2022. Evamarie is a graduate of the Class of 1991 and currently teaches kindergarten here at SPB as well as serving as the parish’s Youth Minister. She is the proud mother of Giovanna (Gigi), a current eighth grader, and the daughter of parishioner Maria Rossi and the late Anthony Rossi.
Evamarie began her teaching career at Saint Paschal Baylon and has never left her alma mater. Her accomplishments are many and her contributions to our parish and school are significant. In addition to her duties as a teacher and Youth Minister, Evamarie has served on various diocesan committees and coordinated several retreats.
Evamarie was nominated by her fellow teachers Carrie Hanus, Elizabeth Krogman, and Anna Peko and was chosen by the Distinguished Graduate Committee from the nominations received. Evamarie will receive her award at the Mass for the Feast of Saint Paschal Baylon on Wednesday, May 17 at 9:00 a.m. Please join us on this day to congratulate her on this well-deserved honor.

Spring Fling....WE NEED YOU!
Spring Fling Raffle Ticket Challenge
Spring Fling Raffle Tickets have been sent out, and Father Lane is challenging each class to sell those raffle tickets! Each family is encouraged to purchase raffle tickets to support our Catholic School. Whether one book or the entire set, any tickets you are able to sell will aid us in reducing our expenses and provide much needed revenue toward our excellent school. Spring Fling is one way we invest/subsidize our Catholic school and reduce our annual deficit.
The class with the greatest percentage of tickets sold will earn a pizza party. If multiple classes have 100% participation, each class will earn a pizza party courtesy of Father Lane.
If the entire school and every class makes its goal, Father Lane will shave his head on May 17 after the Saint Paschal Baylon Memorial Mass.
Please return ticket stubs and money to the school, making sure to indicate your family name and students' room numbers on the envelope. Good luck!

Playground Volunteers Needed-Grades 1, Kindergarten, All Grades
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:15 am-12:50 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.

Family Service Night
April 12th, 6:30-8pm, Eymard Room of the Parish Life Center
In addition to preparing Blessing Bags for the Helping Hands Ministry, we are expanding our service to help clean up our campus! Some of our tasks are outside, so please dress for the weather.
Ladies Guild would like to express our gratitude for the outpouring of generosity in fulfilling the critical needs of Helping Hands and Providence House!
We have one more giving opportunity for Family Service Night: a book drive.
Kids’ Book Drive
We are collecting board books, picture books, and beginning Readers. Books featuring diversity are especially needed. Collection will be on April 12 at Family Service Night (also in Narthex this weekend). All books should be in good condition (new or gently-loved). Books will be distributed to children in Greater Cleveland who don’t have access to books. We cannot accept books for adults, magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias, coloring books, etc. THANK YOU!
Two-thirds of low-income families do not own a single children’s book. • 66% of Cleveland residents are functionally illiterate. • Cleveland has the second-highest child poverty rate of major cities in the U.S. (2018) at 48.7% — illiteracy is a root cause of poverty.
Remember, you can drop off your donated items (including books) in the church narthex after Mass on April 9 or 10, or before/after school on April 11 or 12th
