*Since the first day of school is a minimum day, our schedule for the first week of school will follow the times listed above.

About our schedule

  • Our distance learning schedule follows the recommended and required amount of instructional time for all students. Additionally, we created tutorial time after lunch for our teachers and students to use for the whole group, small group, or individual instruction, intervention, enrichment, or remediation. This time may also be used for Office Hours, homework time, GLC appointments, Social-Emotional Support, SST, 504, and IEP time.

STUDENTS: Check your School E-Mail and Google Classroom this Weekend!

STUDENTS - Please make sure you check your student e-mail & Google Classroom this weekend. Our teachers will have communicated their plans for the first day of school to you through e-mail and Google Classroom. Check beforehand on what the expectations are before Monday.

We would like to send a warm welcome to some of our new teachers on campus this year!

Student Meal Distribution Beginning August 10

Our Food Services team provided 138,600 Grab and Go meals during the closure in mid-March to the end of July. Wow!


Beginning Monday, August 10th Food Services will resume meal distribution. This distribution will take place on school days from 11:30am -1:10pm in the Staff Parking Lot.

Back to School Night - August 27

Back to School Night will be held virtually on August 27. Our teachers will provide information regarding their classes through our website. More information will be provided as we get closer to this date.

AP Test scores were released this month & we are beyond proud of our students, teachers, & support staff given the circumstances. ⁣⁣To our students, no matter how your test went, you took the challenge & we are proud of you! ⁣

IB Students Mark High Achievement

The 2020 IB results have been released! We are very pleased to announce that 100% of our IB students achieved either their Diploma or Career-related certificate! ⁣

To date, more than 1.2 million students worldwide have graduated from the Diploma Programme (DP) and the Career-related Programme (CP). IB students reflect diverse experiences and perspectives, attend IB World Schools in 156 countries representing an even broader range of nationalities. ⁣

Congratulations to the following 28 Walnut High School graduates on obtaining such a high honor.

Community Club raises $40,000 for WHS!

Thank you WHS Community Club for supporting our teachers, staff and students. During registration they raised over $40,000!! They welcomed Walnut High School Teachers and Staff back with 200 goodie bags filled with masks, hand sanitizers, face shields, snacks and a drink along with a free combo meal at Chick Fil A!

for their hard work in putting the Welcome Bags together!

If you need a transcript, you can see it on your Student Portal or go to our website at www.walnuths.net and click under the students tab. Make an account on Parchment and view it free or have one sent. If you need it in another format, please contact our front office for help!

Student CLASSROOM Expectations

  • Teachers will be taking attendance everyday. Students will need to keep their cameras for attendance, participation, and checking for understanding. Teachers will let students know if they can turn off their camera during certain times in the class.
  • Students are not allowed to record without teacher permission.
  • New legislation (AB 77) states that if a student is absent 3 days in the week, the parent will be contacted to support the student to re-engage with Distance Learning.
  • Normal grading policy begins the first day of school. Teachers will cover their grading policy in their syllabus as well as in their Back to School Night presentation.
