News from Mrs. Bush

New Olive Staff Members

Welcome to our newest Olive Staff Members. Miss Janelle Taylor is the new librarian, and Mrs. Shannon Peters is joining us as an Instructional Assistant in Kindergarten. Welcome, also, to Mrs. Jen Slaby, our new Recess Assistant. We have some changes, too! Miss Benefiel, former Kdg teacher, is now teaching 1st Grade and Mrs. Mischak, former 1st Grade teacher is now teaching 3rd. Our former librarian, Mrs. Henning is now working with K-5 students as a Remediation and Enrichment Assistant

Healthy Snacks

Thank you to all parents who send in healthy treats for their students and classes. Please remember to follow all healthy guidelines set forth by the NPUSC. Unfortunately, we cannot serve unapproved items, and they will have to be sent home. Please also do not send in drinks other than water. Thank you for your support in keeping our kids healthy! Click here for a list of NPUSC approved snacks.

Fall Fundraiser is Happening NOW!!!

Don't forget to support our fall fundraiser. All students who sell at least three items will be invited to attend our Black Light Party held during lunch hours later this year. Thank you for your support.

Reminders

  • Morning and afternoon bus locations cannot be changed for any reason.
  • Notes can still be sent in for students to be picked up, stay after school for scheduled events or to walk to a specific location. Please include students' first and last names on all notes.
  • Students should not arrive at school prior to 7:10 am.
  • Shorts, skirts and dresses without leggings are not to be worn unless the temperature is 50 degrees or higher in the morning when you leave for school. Parents will be called to bring in pants if shorts are worn on these days. If pants cannot be brought, students will have to stay in for recess.
  • Please refrain from allowing your children to dye their hair during the school year. This can cause quite a distraction in the learning environment. Thank you for your support in this matter.
  • We are no longer collecting bottle caps. If you have some left over, please deliver them to Prairie View Elementary, who is now collecting to make benches. Thank you for all your support and help in making six benches for Olive! :)
  • Medical Consent Forms need to be sent in at this time, if not already done so.
