What's Heating Up at Holy Spirit

November 23-27

And the peace of GOd, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:7-

The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King (34th Sunday in Ordinary Time)

Gospel Reading: Matthew 25:31-46
Jesus teaches that when the Son of Man comes in glory, he will judge the nations, separating the sheep from the goats.

This is the last week in Ordinary Time. In Sunday's Gospel, Jesus teaches us that we will be judged on only one thing: the acts of mercy we have shown to the least among us. These acts are to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to bury the dead, to shelter the homeless, to visit the sick and imprisoned, and to give alms to the poor. In these actions we show God’s compassion and mercy to those in need. Over the Advent season, we will be inviting our school community to participate in demonstrating acts of mercy like Jesus. Stay tuned for more information.
