Adult and Community Education
"In The Know" 10/11/16
Great turn-out for our teacher workshop
A Message from the Leadership Team
Adult Education
We have elected to use this week, 10/10-10/14, to Casas test students and analyze test results and attendance data to guide instructional practice. Site coordinators and support staff should be preparing for the start of the second-session by ensuring that all attendance “issues” have been resolved and that all student information is up-to-date. Sites are to have all Casas reporting and new student data to their data entry person (Eba, Lisa, or Dulce) no later than Thursday, 10/13. Classes will begin again Monday, October 17.
There has been a great response thus far to the teacher workshops. It is great to see all of you who have elected to meet, share, collaborate and plan. There is still time to join us! Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Thanks again for all who have participated!
Classes for Fall 2 begin the week of October 24th.
The office is working on the Winter 1 and Winter 2 combined catalog. Please be sure to provide all necessary information in a timely manner, in order for us to meet upcoming deadlines.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES FROM BARBARA BELKOFF
Community organizations are a great place to find helpful resources, places that can help us with sometimes difficult situations. Community organizations depend on volunteers to help provide those resources. ONE of the very real ways to become part of a community is to become a volunteer within that community. You interact, speak and assist those living in your own backyard. Volunteering is a great way to practice our skills and also can be a great way to look for future employment.
So on a weekly basis I will share volunteer opportunities in Collier County.
