Catholic School Review
The Catholic School review is done by ELK ISLAND CATHOLIC SCHOOLS.
The Catholic School review highlighted the outstanding work being done at Madonna.
I wish to thank all the stakeholders at Madonna School: Parents, Students, and Staff.
Thank you for your authentic and thoughtful voice.
It is very evident that your children love Madonna School!
Madonna is truly a great school! It is nice to see that in the data that was gathered!
We have so much to be proud of!
I am very grateful.

Alien In-Line Skating This Week
If your child has never in-lined skated before, they will love it. The instructor is highly qualified.
The aLIEN-inline company supplies the inline-skates and safety equipment. If your child has their own hand that is elbow and knee pads send them in. Make sure your child's name is on their equipment.
Parents if you are able to help the Kindergarten and Grade 1 students put on skates please contact their teachers for the times they are skating. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS THIS WEEK. Thank you so much.
The School Handbook has been updated. Please click the link to view OR visit the Madonna School Website, under "About".

Blanket Exercise NEW DATE
Parents and Staff of EICS students are invited to take part in a Blanket Exercise to be held at Central Learning Services (310 Broadview Road) in Sherwood Park on January 23, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The Blanket Exercise is an active participation learning activity based on the major themes and findings of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples. The goal is to build understanding about our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada by walking through pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance. Everyone is actively involved as they step onto blankets that represent the land, and into the role of First Nations, Inuit and later Métis peoples. By engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, the Blanket Exercise effectively educates and increases empathy. For further information, please view this KAIROS Blanket Exercise video.
Participants are asked to bring a blanket that can be placed on the floor and stepped on for this activity.
Please RSVP as soon as possible, by filling out this linked form https://forms.gle/chQRaPvhvG1DSe1L9
We will also have Eva Stang join us at this event. Eva, a Métis Culture and Knowledge Keeper, has been working with EICS this year, supporting the continued growth in staff and administrator knowledge of Indigenous perspectives.
