The LMS Lowdown

February 12, 2021

The second marking period recently ended and the report cards have been released. This marks the halfway point for the year from an academic standpoint. We hope all our students do as well as they can, but if they have not up to this point, there is time left. Our staff is always willing to help. Never hesitate to reach out to the teacher or counselor. We want to work together to help all of our students and we are always here for you.

If you drop your child off in the morning, please help us keep the lines down. You can do this by pulling up as far as you can to the LMS main doors. We will have a sign outside that will show you where to pull up to at the doors. When done properly, we can fit about eight cars at a time for drop off. Those in line behind you will thank you.

Kindergarten registration for the 2021-22 school year began on Monday, February 1st on our website. Any Lumberton resident with a child who turns 5 on or before September 30th, 2021 is eligible to register for kindergarten. Find more information on our website HERE.

The Lumberton Township School District is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a Preschool Expansion Grant from the New Jersey Department of Education. This award will allow the district to provide FREE, high quality preschool to a number of our three- and four- year-old students. The district will be partnering with the Center for Family Services to provide free, high quality preschool to Head Start eligible Lumberton children immediately upon enrollment.

Families must meet the criteria as outlined by Head Start, though some exceptions may be made for families moderately over these amounts. These income guidelines may be waived for families with special circumstances who might benefit from placement in Head Start.

What if I am not comfortable sending my child to school at this time?

There are several service delivery options available, including a fully remote option.

What do I do if I am interested in enrolling my child in the program?

Visit the district website to complete the interest form: or you can contact Caryn Zweben, Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services: or by phone (609) 267-9099 x3808

We are working with Lifetouch to set up retake hot opportunities and if you missed the first photo opportunity. We will keep you updated when details are finalized. If you still need to pick up your pictures, please contact Mrs. Wagner at

Today in our Throwback, we go back to the early 2000's with two teachers, Mrs. Hannold and Mrs. Scott who came to LMS the same year and have been impacting the lives of students for twenty years.
