Principal's Bulletin
Week 2: August 31-September 4, 2020
Dear Families,
I want to begin by thanking each of you for your patience and understanding as our first week of virtual learning got off to a bumpy start. Despite the technical difficulties that the district experienced, I can honestly say that our staff and students did an outstanding job. We know that there is still a need for some of our students to be connected with technology and internet and I want to assure you that we are working to meet our communities needs.
Thank you for your continued support!
Peace, Love, & Eagles!
Mrs. Zagala
Principal
Returning Students to On Campus In-Person Learning
The District will begin providing some in-person instruction beginning on Sept. 8 after Labor Day using a methodical and tiered approach to bringing students safely back into schools. The plan will allow for students who are most academically in-need to return first and in small, controlled numbers. The District will continue to monitor and assess health conditions and assuming those metrics continue to trend in a positive manner, more students will be invited back to schools using the tiered approach.
There is no anticipated timeline or schedule for when groups will be allowed to return to in-person instruction as it is dependent on health conditions. However, NISD will monitor conditions on a regular basis and decisions on which students will be brought back for in-person instruction will be communicated to families.
As a general guideline, families who selected in-person instruction will have a two-week notice for when their child may return. We know that many families are excited about the prospect for in-person learning and so are we! However, we will ramp up numbers of students in buildings slowly to ensure the safety of our students, their families, and staff. Please bear with us as we try to make the best decisions for everyone.
As a campus, we will begin notifying parents on Monday, August 31st if your child is able to return to in-person learning on September 8th. We appreciate your support and patience during this time. For more information from the district, please use the link below.
