December is here!

The fall semester is almost over with only three more weeks of instruction before the holiday break. Our kiddos have had lots of fun learning new concepts and making new friends this semester. Our teachers have taken good care of our students, and they are ready to close this semester with a bang!

It seems a short time, but it will be packed with events and activities. Let's make the most of it!

Vision For Life Bus

Through a partnership with “Kids Vision for Life,” a program of the Essilor Vision Foundation, Dallas ISD students can receive free vision screenings, exams, and prescription eyeglasses. The program’s Mobile Vision Clinic is scheduled to visit our school on Monday, December 2nd.

Donuts with Doc

Big picture
Dr. Sandoval will be hosting Donuts with Doc in the library this Wednesday, December 4 at 8:00 a.m. This is a great opportunity to stay up to date about the school's activities, events, and overall information.

Pics with Santa

Big picture
Santa is coming to Lipscomb!

We will be taking photos on Wednesday, December 4th during the school day.

Students can wear their favorite holiday attire to take a photo with Santa Claus. Check their folder for the form sent the Thursday before the break to let us know if your kid would rather have their pic without Santa. We know some of our little ones can get scared... so, this year they can have a holiday pic by themselves! Please write "No Santa" at the top of the form.

Donate to PTA

PTA will be gifting the printed photos to all students. If you would like to donate towards the printing of photos this year, please follow this link!

Volunteers needed!

We could use some extra help for Holiday Pictures with Santa!

We need Santa helpers setting up on Tuesday after school, lending a hand throughout the shooting session on Wednesday, and taking down the set after all photos have been taken.

Please visit the SignUp Genius link to let us know you will be available to help!

Thank you and congratulations to our volunteer of the month Chrissy Trotter!

This year we dedicated more than $12,000 to the teacher wishlist. Gathering, organizing and filling all of those requests is a big job for one person. Chrissy has worked many hours behind the scenes, helping provide our classrooms with everything from iPads to bean bag chairs.

Thank you, Chrissy!

Teachers and students may get a break from school, but the Lipscomb Peace Pantry never slows down!

Now that the amazing Thanksgiving Lion Packs went home, they are busy prepping for the Winter Break Packs! These will need to help feed our families for the two weeks that our students will be away from school, so they will need lots of help and donations

Be on the lookout for more info and how you can help over the long holiday break by following them on Facebook.

How long is your to-do list this holiday season? J.L. Long Cheerleaders are here to help! Please consider dropping your children off at Studio B on Sunday, December 15, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. so you can wrap presents, go shopping or even take a nap, all the while supporting the J.L. Long Cheerleaders' fundraising efforts for their upcoming spring competition. There will be lots of holiday fun planned for your children, including crafts, movies, games and a yummy treat from Snowbaby!

Please see the flyer for all the details and how to sign up.

Ms. Drummond is having three workshops sessions this Wednesday, December 11. Everyone is invited to come and learn about how to better work with your child as they build their reading skills.

This is a great opportunity for parents to be able to help with your child's academic development.

ACP Testing

Our students will be working hard on showing their knowledge during the ACP administration window. Make sure you send them to school well-rested and having had a good breakfast if they don't participate in the school's free breakfast program.

Students in 5th grade will be testing from Friday 13th, to Tuesday 17th, while all other grade levels will start testing on Monday, December 16th.

Wednesday 18th is a testing make-up day.

Class Parties

Our kiddos will be celebrating the end of the fall semester with a party in their classrooms on Thursday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m.

Please contact your child's teacher regarding the details of this event.

Thursday, December 19 is the last school day for our students.
