Purpose of the School Health Advisory Committee
PK-5 Core Essentials
Core Essentials Character Education Program
We implemented the Core Essentials Character Education Program, which is sponsored by Chick-Fil-A. A new “Big Idea” character word is learned and discussed each month. Each word coordinates with a color and animal which helps students remember the word. Mrs. Brown talks to students during lunch and explains what the big idea word means, ways to implement the character trait in daily life, and why it is important to have strong character. Students are shown brief videos to familiarize them with the character words. Banners are hung in the hallway with the words, color and animal to remind the students of the meanings of these words throughout the school year.
