What happens to your old technology devices when you get rid of them?
Your old technology devices become electronic waste or e-waste. E-waste is defined as anything being thrown away by consumers that contains a circuit board.
Whats the problem?
There are many goods ways that people are getting rid of their old electronics but yet, there are some bad ways too. The problem is that all of this e-waste is not being recycled. In fact, majority of the e-waste is illegally being shipped to China where they extract the precious metals and other "goods" from these old electronics.
So if you need to get rid of some old electronics here are some ways deal with electronic waste. These are some environmental friendly tips:
Hand em' Down/Donating Makes Your Heart Happy ❤️😄
Instead of throwing away your devices, think about if someone else can use them. You can hand them down to people who don't have the same privilege as you. Or if you have no use for a device, donate it. Someone less fortunate than you would greatly appreciate the chance to experience your old technology. Do it for CHARITY!
Make Some Moolaahh 💵💰
You can also sell your technology devices if they are in good enough condition. There are probably a lot of willing people that would buy your old devices.
Rip Them Apart 🔧🔩💻📱
Cannabalizing the machine or device you don't need anymore means that you take it apart and get the useful spare parts so you can use them for things such as repairs or sell them so other people can use them.
