A Message From Dr. Sasso

TJ Community:

The end of the school year is upon us and what an unbelievable year it has been. I didn't know what this school year bring us, but we have all worked together to make it a very special year. I hope you and your child can look back at this school year and a big smile comes across your face as you remember some of the great activities that occurred here at TJ.

We have some really fun end of the year activities planned and we would love a little help from you with one of them. On June 2nd, we are going to have our annual PBIS raffle drawings as a way of recognizing the students. Leading up to that day, students will have a chance to put their TJ tickets they earned for meeting our expectations into a drawing for lots of fun little prizes and that is where we would love your help.

Although we have some prizes already for the raffle, we need some more. If you have a game, stuffed animals, or any other small items you want to donate to the raffle, we will take it. The more prizes, the more students we can recognize, so if you have anything at your house that you want to donate to the school, please send it to school with your child or drop it off in the front office. We will take collections until May 25.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sasso

Parent/Visitor Procedures

Now that we are slowing lifting some of the COVID restrictions at the schools we have had the past year, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of our procedures for visitors coming to the school during school hours.

Parents and visitors are welcome at school; however, because unannounced visits can be disruptive and interfere with instructional time, all visits must be arranged through an appointment with the classroom teacher or office staff. Younger siblings in the classroom can be a distraction so we ask that you make arrangements for them if you plan to visit.

According to District 15 procedures, when visiting a school, all visitors are required to do the following:

  • Enter through the designated visitor entrance door.
  • Sign in to the school’s visitor’s log, providing any pertinent information listed on the log (i.e., name, destination, reason for visit, time-in/time-out, etc.).
  • Provide personal government-issued identification card in exchange for the visitor’s pass.
  • Visibly wear the visitor’s pass that is provided by the school’s office personnel for the duration of the visit.
  • Be escorted by staff to their destination, if staff is available.
  • Observe all laws, school policies, procedures, and rules while visiting the school.
  • Sign out of the visitor’s log and return the visitor’s pass in exchange for personal government-issued identification.

We cannot let anyone into the school without running their identification through our RAPTOR system. Visitors without an ID will not be let into the building.
