Please do not block the red zone - quick stop to pick up/drop off only. Help our school buses have a smooth pick up and departure. Please park on the street and walk in to meet your child if you plan to leave your vehicle.
MORNING DROP-OFF
Please note there is NO SUPERVISION on campus prior to 8am . If your child is coming for breakfast, they should come to the cafeteria double doors no earlier than 7:50. At 8am, students may enter campus at the Green Gates. Teachers will meet their classes on the playground when the bell rings at 8:15am.
AFTERNOON PICK UP
We ask for your patience at pick up times. Preschool, Kinder, 1st and 2nd grades and Ms. Richards' 3rd graders will be dismissed out of the main school doors. If you are picking up Ms. Parr's 3rd graders or 4th-6th graders, plan to pick them up by the Green Gates.

BRING A WATER BOTTLE TO SCHOOL
We are lucky to have water bottle refilling stations here at Lorin Eden - please send your child with a water bottle - this will help them at PE on the yard and in class.
LORIN EDEN STUDENT BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
NO FOOD, please!
A number of our Lorin Eden students have significant allergies to a wide range of food items. In order to keep all of our students safe, we are not able to distribute any food items for birthday celebrations at school. If you would like, please contact your child's teacher to make arrangements in advance to provide a non-food item (pencils, erasers, stickers) to mark the special occasion.

Please welcome Ms. Jennine Blackmon-Powell, Lorin Eden's Social-Emotional School Counselor
My name is Jennine Blackmon-Powell, and I am excited about the opportunity to support your students. I have been a school psychologist and counselor for the past six years. I attended San Diego State University and received my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies (elementary education) with a minor in Ethnic Studies. During my time there, I worked as a day camp coordinator and community service project coordinator for at-risk youth through Americorp.
I went into corporate America for about ten years as a young adult as an events and incentives manager for a few companies. I pursued an MBA (masters of business administration) at the University of Denver during my career ambitions to grow my leadership skills and enhance organizational systems.
Life happened, and I found myself wanting to return to education. In 2016, I completed my master's degree in School Psychology and Pupil Personnel Services Credential. I interned in Hayward Unified School District before settling in at a local public charter school. I am very grateful for this opportunity to return to this fantastic district.
In my personal life, I am loved by my three children. I spend a lot of time traveling, reading, working out, kayaking and playing games with my family. I am really active in the Hayward and Castro Valley communities.
Success is possible for all humans in every area of their lives. It is all about building up the resources, strategies, and emotional resilience to achieve it. My professional goal is to give people the skills they need to maximize their potential and to guide them as they learn what they need to help them thrive and spread joy at all stages.
Looking forward to collaborations and partnerships,
Jennine Blackmon-Powell MA, PPSC School Psychology
