Hirsch Hawk Parents,
The third and final required Project-Based Learning plan (PBL#3) is now available on our website at www.springisd.org/athome.
Remember, this is the last of three PBLs that must be completed to fulfill all of your requirements to complete the 2019-20 school year. This PBL is short and will extend from Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28 with one assignment due.
Students should upload their completed assignment through Schoology by May 28. Please note, if anyone is still working on PBL #1 and #2, teachers will continue to accept assignments. The goal is to support all students to complete ALL work by the end of the school year.

How Student Grades Will Be Determined
As students start to turn in their completed PBL assignments, we want to update everyone on how the grading system will work.
Within each PBL, there is a grading rubric, which will be used to assess each assignment. That rubric will be used, in conjunction with earlier marking periods, to determine final grades.
Here is a graphic that will help explain how grades will be calculated. Should you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Full day Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten starts next school year. Register now!
To register for prekindergarten or kindergarten and for more information, including eligibility requirements and Frequently Asked Questions, parents should go to www.springisd.org/prek. District staff will be available to assist parents in both English and Spanish with the online registration, if needed, by calling 281-891-6337.
Tell your family, friends, and neighbors to register their Pre-K students early! Do not delay.
summer learning at-home is coming soon
In light of ongoing health and safety concerns related to the pandemic, Spring ISD has redesigned summer school for this year into an online experience available to ALL students and tailored to meet specific instructional needs.
Specifically, the district will be hosting two Summer Learning At-Home sessions to run Monday through Thursday with the first scheduled for June 10-30 and the second slated to run July 7- 28.
For students requiring grade-level support in order to be ready for the next school year, the sessions will include targeted tutorials in reading/literacy as well as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). For students looking for additional learning opportunities, we will be offering different enrichment camps depending on their grade level, including AP boot camp, GT camp, STEAM Camp and Literacy Camp.
Watch for more information about these offerings with specific guidance on what programs might best meet the needs of your student. If you’re thinking of participating in ANY of these programs, please do not turn in your district-issued Chromebook. You are invited to keep it until the end of our summer school sessions.
