Ramadan, the holiday that unites Muslims
Fasting during Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam that are have to be done to be a proper practicing Muslim. Approximately 1.6 billion Muslims live all around the world. It is celebrated as the month the prophet Muhammad received the first revelations from God. Ramadan is observed by eating before dawn, and then break the fast after sunset.
