Hawk Talk Highlights
Highlights for and from our amazing CMTHS family!
A Message from Dr. King, CMTHS's Executive Director
The weather in April is very unpredictable. It’s 80 one day and a frost warning the next day. At least April brings hope. Hope for new seedlings to grow; hope for more sunny and warm days; hope for renewal; hope for a long school year to successfully end leaving our students and staff better than we started. All of that hope makes me smile. However, April brings with it a new level of exhaustion for educators and families. This is the month you need to not feel guilty about shutting down your phone for an evening or weekend. Go for a walk, turn the music up a bit louder on your drive to and from work, get a massage, and take care of yourself and your family. The end of April kicks off the end of this school year, so fill your bucket because you can't take care of others if you don't have anything to give. I hope you find this edition of Hawk Talk Highlights helpful to bring laughter and joy to your work. Feel free to reach out to me, if I can do anything to support your work or be a sounding board for ideas, I will. You got this!

Mrs. Sandy Brower, School Counselor
What if I told you that there was a ROCK STAR working at CMTHS? Well, there is and her name is Mrs. Sandy Brower. She is one of our amazing school counselors, the NOCTI https://www.nocti.org/testing coordinator, the Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) coordinator, a mother (especially of a very active teenager), a wife, and so much more. Our SkillsUSA https://www.skillsusa.org/ students thrived this year by participating in competition and leadership events as well as inviting our school to participate in community outreach and school spirit. Mrs. Brower is always on the go and she loves to work out, hike, deep-sea fish, and tan in the sun, but most of all she is always making sure that everyone is taken care of whether it is a student, a staff member, or a parent. Thank you, Mrs. Brower, for your energy and support. You are simply the BEST!
How can you say No to this face? Please welcome my new Granddog, Jameson, the German Shorthaired Pointer.
