Counselor Corner
Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a fabulous week.
I found a great resource on a body's "tolerance cup." Students can experience a lot of frustrating or disappointing things over the course of a day. If they aren't emptying out their "tolerance cups", they may be "exploding" when they get home from school because their cups are overflowing. Included on the poster are strategies for your child to get rid of some of that water in their "tolerance cup." Some other strategies they can try are journaling, drawing or coloring, and/or listening to a guided reading.
This is a great reminder not only for students, but also for adults! As adults we often forget we also need to be taking care of ourselves. Here are some great strategies that you can use with your student, this way you both are pouring out some water from the "tolerance cup". If you have any questions or if you use this with your child, please let me know! I would love to hear about how it went.
As always, if you or your child need anything please do not hesitate to reach out. I can be reached at woodal@gjps.org and/or (614) 643-0765.
Have a great weekend,
Lexie Wood
