Whitford Catholic Primary School
Newsletter 19 - 20 June 2018
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
New Carpark and Drive Through System
The quote says it all. I can’t thank our school community enough for the patience you have shown over the past few months. Our official opening of the new carpark and drive through system will be tomorrow morning - Thursday 21st June.
Please take the time to read the information that was sent via School Stream and printed copy yesterday. A copy is also contained further in this newsletter.
We ask that you drive carefully and be as patient as possible as we work through this new transition phase. At school pick up time, please try not to arrive earlier than 2:30 as students will not be released from the classrooms until 3:00pm (Yrs. 1-6).
Parents from Pre-Primary will be invited to use our Drive Through system from Term 3.
Retirement of Donna Moxey
It is with great sadness that I advise that Donna Moxey has recently announced her retirement as Parish Coordinator. Donna has done an amazing job, not only in coordinating the Sacraments, but by maintaining strong relationships between the Parish and school. Her dedication and the contributions she made will be greatly missed. The Parish hope to announce a new Coordinator within the next few weeks.
Interschool Cross Country
We wish our students the best of luck in the Interschool Cross Country Carnival which will be held at Mawson Park this Friday. A big thank you to Mr D’Adamo and Miss Golisano for training and preparing out students for the event. We know they will represent our school with pride.
Meraki Festival and Dance Showcase (PP-2)
We can't wait to watch our Boys and GIrls Dance Groups perform at tonight's Meraki School Festival at the Perth Convention and Entertainment Centre.
Our Pre-Primary - Year 2 students will also be showing us their moves at the Dance Showcase tomorrow afternoon. Thank-you to Mrs D’Adamo for her continual dedication to promoting the Arts in and outside of our school.
Andrew Chinn visit
On Tuesday 26 June, Australian religious songwriter and singer, Andrew Chinn, will be visiting our school to share his songs with our children. Andrew’s songs, such as “These Hands”, “Rainbow” and “An African Blessing” are used in classrooms and liturgies around Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada . Parents are warmly invited to be a part of the celebration of faith and fun. There is no charge for adults. The concert will take place in the school hall at 1:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
ICAS Maths Competition
Mathematics ICAS Competition will take place Monday 13 August. All entries and money are due in tomorrow, Thursday 21 June for any students in Years 3-6 wishing to enter.
Learning Journeys
The Learning Journeys that will take place next Tuesday 26 June after school are a wonderful opportunity for your child to showcase some of the great work they have been doing this semester. This is a great time for your child to lead you through their journey of learning. Albion Park will be available for parking that afternoon to avoid parking issues.
Have a wonderful week!
Many blessings
