December Attendance Challenge
Begin on time and attending school each day are good habits that support student academic success. In order to encourage these positive habits we will be having an attendance challenge each week in December.
At the end of each week we will do three different drawings. One for students who had no tardies during the week, another for students who were at school each day, and another for students who ... Students who were on time and at school each day will find themselves entered into each drawing.
Prizes for the drawings will be giftcards to various locations including the Nike Outlet in Bend, Famous Footwear, Dick's Sporting Goods, Ulta Beauty, and so many other places. Winners will be called at the end of the week over the intercom to come and collect their prize at the front office.
Please help us by making sure your students are on time to school each day.
End of Trimester 1
Safety reminder to all of our families who have students walking or biking to EGMS
It is that time of year when our days are getting shorter and colder. For our student who walk or bike to school, your morning commute may be dark. PLEASE make sure you are having conversations with your kids about how to get to school safely.
Don’t assume cars can see you and will stop for you.
Don’t be looking down at your phone while walking or biking.
Use the designated crosswalks when crossing the street, if there are no designated crosswalks use the closest lighted intersection.
Don’t walk to school wearing headphones, it makes it hard to hear cars and decreases your awareness of your surroundings.
Wear clothes that make you visible to drivers and keep you warm.
Reflective clothing and lights are a good idea.
If you are riding a bike to school PLEASE wear a helmet and use bike lights.
Watch for ice.
Follow the rules of the road, please review basic rules with students.
Thanks for your support in helping us keep our students safe!

The volunteer application is now online and can be accessed through this link. We do need all volunteers to have a current volunteer application on file with the district. If you are unsure if you have a current one on file, please contact our school office and we would be happy to find out.
Winter Band Concert
Our band students have been practicing and are excited for their first school band concert this year on Tuesday December 17th. Due to space limitations we will have two concerts. The 6th graders will perform first and then we will clear the gym for the 7th and 8th graders to perform. Please see the arrival time for your student and their performance time.
6th graders should arrive at 6pm and go to the band room. 6th grade families can make their way to the gym to find a seat at that time. 6th graders will perform at 6:20pm. After the 6th graders perform, families will exit the gym to meet their band student in our school cafeteria.
The 7th and 8th graders should arrive at 6:40pm and go to the band room. At this time the 7th and 8th grade families will line up in the hallway outside the gym for your student’s performance. Once the 6th grade performance is done and those families have left the gym you will be let in to find a seat. The 7th & 8th grade concert will begin at 7 pm.
We are looking forward to sharing all the progress students have made in band this year, they are amazing! We hope to see you there!
