Class of 2016

Scholarships from Lakeland High School and local organizations are now available for your benefit. Each scholarship can be found on Lakeland's Counseling website for download.


The COMPLETED scholarship application must be turned into Mrs. Roberto in Student Services by Monday, March 14, 2016 by 3:00pm. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

*Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Most Scholarships require letters of recommendation and essays. DO NOT wait until the last minute.
  • Transcripts should be printed from your Parchment account
  • DO NOT staple, please use paper clips

Overview of Scholarships Available

  • American Legion Beckwith Memorial – Must have family member in the military and a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Value - $1,000

  • Britt Perrotta Sommerfield Memorial – Must be accepted and attending The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the fall of 2016.

Value - $3,000

  • Highland Equestrian Conservancy – Must have completed a conservation or equestrian-related project.

Value - $1,000

  • Highland-White Lake Business Association – Community service and extra-curricular activities considered.

Value – at least $500

  • Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce – Community service and financial need considered.

Value - $1,000

  • Huron Valley Education Association – Scholarships to students who plan to pursue a declared major in Education.

Value - $1,000

  • Huron Valley Equestrian Committee – Must be on the HV Equestrian team.

Value - $250

  • Huron Valley Schools Leadership Management Team – Based on economic need.

Value - $1,000

  • Kathy A. Janssen Foundation – LHS multi-sport athlete; minimum 3.25 GPA; scholarship for (1) male and (1) female.

Value - $1500

  • The John Joannides Memorial/ Holiday Hope for Kids – Must be receiving special education services or have a documented 504 plan; 2.0 GPA.

Value - $500

  • LHS Athletic Booster Club - Must have earned at least one varsity letter in athletics; minimum of 2.75 GPA. Scholarship for (1) female and (1) male.

Value - $1,000

  • LHS Parent Council - For Lakeland seniors who meet a 2.5 - 3.3 GPA and have demonstrated “positive growth” during their years at Lakeland.

Value - $500

  • LHS Principal’s Scholarship – Must have attended Lakeland High School for four years and plan to pursue a postsecondary education.

Value - $500

  • LHS Student Activities - Must have been involved in Student Activities at Lakeland within the past four years. Minimum of 2.5 GPA.

Value - $250

  • Milford Garden Club - Financial need and community service based; minimum of 2.5 GPA.

Value – (3) $1,000 and (1) $2,000

  • Milford-Huron Valley Lions Club – Must be a college bound student with a minimum of 3.5 GPA.

Value - $1,500

  • Milford Rotary Club – Based on financial need and community service; minimum of 3.0 GPA.

Value - $2,500

  • Oak Valley Middle School Staff Scholarship – Must have attended OVMS; 3.0 GPA.

Value - $500

  • Oxbow Elementary Ken Tucker Memorial – Must have attended Oxbow; 3.0 GPA.

Value - $500

  • Shannon Gaber Silverthorn Memorial - For students entering Law Enforcement, Fire Science, Law or other public service program.

Value - $2,000

  • Suburban League – Based on essay and financial need.

Value - $1000

  • Zonta Club of Milford – For a female student attending a 2-year educational institution (ex: community college, trade school, business school).

Value - $800
