A Note from the Principal
Greetings, WPA Families,
Family Reading Hour
We are so excited to be kicking off our first family reading hour this month. We hope that you will be able to join us for this fun and learning-packed event. Please take a look at the flyer below for additional details.
Substitutes
We are in need of a few additional subs. If you or someone you know enjoys working with children, are dependable, and would like a flexible part-time job, please reach out to Mrs. Pilkington. apilkington@wasatchpeak.org
LOST AND FOUND!
Our lost and found closet will be cleaned out at the end of the month. Please check for anything that you have missed before it gets donated! Also, did you know that we check lost coats, jackets, etc. for names before we donate them? Take a moment to label your student's clothing so we can get it back to your student.
School Spelling Bee
We will be kicking off the school spelling bee in the coming weeks. Winners from our school are invited to participate in the Davis District Spelling Bee. Students wishing to practice before participating in the classroom spelling bees can access the practice list below.
WPA 2024-2025 Lottery- Is Open NOW
Do you know someone who would love WPA? Our very best advertising for WPA has always come by word of mouth from WPA’s families. If you know of a family that would love what we have to offer at WPA, please take a moment to tell them what you like about our school and share our lottery link. You can also invite them to visit us in person by taking a tour. Please call the front office to make arrangements.
Weather, Road Conditions, and Late Starts
We consider many things when deciding to delay the start of school so students can arrive at school safely. When the decision has been made about delaying the start of school, we will notify parents via text message. (If you are not receiving our text messages, please contact the front office.) We also post this information on our social media pages. Because we take the same feedback on road conditions into consideration, it is very likely that if Davis School District is delaying the start of school, we will be doing the same. We also understand that some families travel from outside Davis County or have other unique travel situations. We ask that families use their best judgment regarding road conditions and make a safe arrival a priority; if Davis School District determines it is not safe to travel to school for the day, we will offer online learning opportunities to WPA students for a distance learning day.
Attendance:
Attendance is an influential factor that impacts a child's learning. As early as Kindergarten, missing school can have long-term effects on a child's education. A lot of research supports the goal for students to miss less than ten days per school year or less than one day per month. You can access your student's attendance through Aspire or contact the front office for additional details.
Work Hard and Be Kind,
Mrs. Pilkington

Developing Young Minds Through Sport Stacking
This club is for our actual SPORT STACKING TEAM here at WPA. It is for students who already know how to Sport Stack, students who don’t know how to sport stack, but would love to learn how and be a part of our Sport Stacking team. Students need to be willing to commit to practice every day.
We will work as a team to develop, improve, and foster our team’s cooperation, ambidexterity, hand-eye coordination, self-improvement, and competition skills by stacking 9 or 12 specially designed cups in pre-determined sequences as fast as possible. It is an individual and team sport that engages students at any age and at different skill levels.
