EQUITYMATTERZ
A RACIAL JUSTICE DINE & DIALOGUE
Living Racial Justice: A Model of Daily Praxis for Teachers, Researchers, Faculty, and Community
Mark November, 2, 2018 from 6-8PM on your calendar and join us at the East Las Vegas Community Center for this intergenerational community-centered conversation focused on how local educators can walk the talk of racial justice in their daily lives, including engaging students, families and communities of color as equal partners to develop racially just learning spaces. The session will feature a keynote address by national Social Justice Scholar Dr. Marcos Pizarro of San Jose State University, as well as a panel of high school students reflecting on their experiences learning in local classrooms and schools. Best of all, we're doing this one community potluck style with table talk discussions facilitated by local teachers of color. Don't leave the babies too young to participate in the dialogue at home, because we are also working to provide an activity room for young children ages 4-10 and will keep you posted! This is a conversation you will not want to miss! Grab family, friends, your favorite dish to share with at least 10 folks, and most importantly local youth, and come participate in the dialogue!
