How to find specific types of items

Streaming Options:

MultiMedia Services provides access to streaming materials from Learn360, CCC! and PBS LearningMedia.

Learn360: Learn360 is an interactive, media-on-demand digital delivery service for K-12 education. With 24/7 access from any Internet-enabled device, teachers can stream high-quality full-length videos, video clips, images, audio files, speeches, articles, teacher guides, activities, worksheets, and more. Content is provided by more than 100 top educational producers, and that number is continually growing. All of Learn360’s video content is correlated to Common Core, state, and provincial standards, as well as 21st Century Skills.

Core Curriculum Content (CCC!): CCC! Streaming Media offers over 7,000 programs that have been curated from respected educational video sources. The content has been vetted by educators and aligned to Common Core and state standards, and is supplemented with Teacher’s Guides, Student Activities, and Knowledge Checks (quizzes). And each video is segmented into smaller clips, giving teachers a choice of over 100,000 two- to three-minute clips to integrate into their lesson plans. In this way, CCC! Streaming Media is not a replacement for the textbook – it’s an expansion of it!

PBS LearningMedia: PBS LearningMedia now offers more than 100,000 digital resources available to PreK-12 educators nationwide. Since its launch in 2011, PBS LearningMedia has continued to actively expand its offerings of education content that appeals to digital native students. Resources are available in English and Spanish, and are aligned to National and Common Core State Standards.

You can search for streaming materials exclusively based on what NYS standard you are looking to incorporate into your lesson. You can learn more about how to do this by checking out this newsletter.

Professional Development Presentations & Workshops

Many districts have found that school visits and professional development workshops are a wonderful way for teachers to see how to best use BOCES MultiMedia Services. Alicia Makenzie, the coordinator for BOCES MultiMedia Services, will gladly visit your school district to show teachers what materials are available and how to best use the library catalog.

Alicia has a very flexible schedule and can work with librarians and administrators to plan a presentation or workshop with whatever time-frame they have available.
