Reflections from Elder's Desk
Over the last two weeks of school, Tiger admin has been honing in on addressing student behavior and communicating campus expectations. The last two weeks, we have noticed that our freshmen have not adapted quickly to the campus and behavioral expectations that we expect at AMCHS. Nevertheless, we will not waiver from the expectations, procedures, and rules that we have in place. Moreover, I had the opportunity to visit several predominantly freshman level classes and observed the students' actions in the classroom too. Based on what I observed, it is a priority that we model and inspect what we expect! There is no doubt that the first six to twelve weeks of school are challenging, yet they pave the way for how productive/unproductive we will be as a school family. We will be committed to bringing students up to the level of success that we expect at AMCHS. Remember ignored behaviors become accepted behaviors. If you are experiencing behavioral or academic concerns with specific students, please let us know so we can support you.
As a school family, we will have a safe, supportive learning environment, maintain a level of excellence for ALL students, strengthen positive relationships with colleagues and students, and implement relevant, rigorous coursework.
Thank you for your work over the last two weeks--stay committed to bringing out the best in every student at AMCHS. We will be Driven by Purpose.
