Panther Pause
20 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School
3.3.17
Panthers,
I am writing to you from New Orleans as I am on a trip with the Soaring Valor program. Some of you may have heard of our students on this trip, but for those that haven't, the Gary Sinise Foundation and American Airlines have sponsored a trip for our students to partner with a WWII veteran to tour the WWII museum. To sit and listen to our students visit with some people that are true American heroes is amazing. I have heard countless stories from our veterans told to our students that they will remember for a lifetime. This is why we do what we do to create learning opportunities that will impact our students far beyond the walls of CHHS, and help them become better citizens for the next generation. Have a great weekend and GO PANTHERS!!

Student Voice
The two things I enjoy most about my school is the wonderful community of students and the great teachers.
The students here are so great and nice. I moved here not knowing anybody, but now I know lots of people who invited me to be their friends. It's not just my grade either, every new person I meet is polite and greeting.
The greatness about this place does not stop there. The teachers are always willing to comply to help with my struggles of subjects. Some may care more than others, but they are always there. I sometimes hate the subjects while I never dislike the teachers.
I feel like this school and the people here have taught me a lot, whether it be subjects or social skills, and that's why I love this school.

ACCEPTED Wall
Exciting New Endeavor! CHHS PTSA is collaborating with CHHS AVID to create a space on our campus that will showcase the accomplishments of our CHHS seniors and where they have been accepted to college. It will be called an ACCEPTED Wall. The purpose of the ACCEPTED Wall is to highlight exceptional college campuses all over the United States and beyond, and to start a conversation about how and why to choose a school of higher learning.
Here is how students and parents can help:
1. We would like pennants from colleges that you visit. While you are on a tour, pick up a pennant to donate. They can be dropped at the CHHS office beginning Tuesday, January 17th .
2. When you receive acceptance confirmation and decide on a college, scan your letter and send it Dawn Treese at dawn@treese.org. These will be framed and hung on the ACCEPTED Wall.
Questions? Contact Dawn Treese at dawn@treese.org

CHHS fathers and grandfathers are invited to participate in the 2016-2017 Grateful Dads Greeter Program, a part of CHHS PTSA that encourage the involvement of all dads on campus. Greeters greet students as they arrive on Friday mornings. Principal Dr. Groppel receives lots of positive feedback about the impact this program plays in the attitude and motivation of students. The students notice and they appreciate the effort and the presence of Grateful Dads. Greeters are needed for Friday of each week from 8:00 am to 8:40 am in three locations on campus. Please visit this Signup Genius link for details and to sign up for the Greeter Program. For more information, contact Bryan Holland, Grateful Dads Chair at 817-875-5215 or bholland071@icloud.com.
