Students Bring in Chromebooks and Chargers
Beginning on Monday, students need to bring in their computers and chargers every day. We want to make sure computers are set and ready to go for EOGs, which begin on Wednesday.
For 7th and 8th graders, your student's homeroom teacher will be making sure students have the Chromebooks and chargers that were signed out to them. The teacher will be checking to make sure students have their correct Chromebook and charger tomorrow during homeroom.
Please make sure your student brings both their chromebook and charger to school!
Message from Northwood
Northwood High School is happy to announce we are hosting Charge Up, an enrichment program for rising Freshmen this year. Charge Up is designed to assist incoming freshmen and new students in making a smooth, successful transition from middle school to high school. Charge Up will be facilitated by NHS faculty, school counselor, and Student Council. You can read more about Charge Up here. Dates for Charge Up are August 8 - 11. You can register here, or under the Summer Learning tab on the Northwood website. Reach out to Jackie Milliken (jmmilliken@chatham.k12.nc.us) if you have questions.
Library Returns
Students who have items checked out from the Media Center should return these items by 6/3.
EOG Proctors Wanted!!!
MBP is in need of proctors for end-of-the-year testing. Having additional adults in the building during testing sessions ensures the best testing environment for our students and staff. Proctors should have an up-to-date CCS Volunteer background check. If you are a new volunteer, please register at this link. The training is a short video that can be completed at home. Please contact testing coordinator Melissa Good at mgood@chatham.k12.nc.us to share times you are available.
Here are the days and times we need assistance:
- Wednesday, May 25th 8:00am - noon
- Thursday, May 26th 8:00am - noon
- Friday, May 27th 8:00am - 11:00am
- Wednesday, June 1st 8:00am - noon
As we get closer to the EOGs, please encourage your student to do the best they can. The information we get back will help us, or your student's next school, know how we can best serve them. Additionally, we use the data we receive to help identify students that could be AIG, receive nurturing services for AIG, next year's math classes, and possibly exiting from different remediation programs. Finally, no matter what students score on their EOGs, what matters most to our school is that every student is growing academically. Pollard has had a great year and we can't wait to see the progress our students have made!
