UPK-4 Information
Fall Festivities: The students and teachers in the elementary grades will be having Autumn Celebrations within their classrooms on Friday, October 29, 2021. During these parties, the students will be able to wear their Halloween costume that they brought from home. We request that students refrain from wearing the costume to school, as this can be a distraction to their learning throughout the school day. The celebrations will vary in nature depending upon grade and classroom. Students will participate in learning activities which may include: themed center rotations, holiday stories, games, craft activities that are STEAM-related, and physical movement opportunities.
5-8 Information
Five-week Reports: Five-week reports will be ready to view on SchoolTool by the middle of this week. Please login to the Parent Portal later in the week to check your child/children's progress.
Fire Prevention Week (October 3-9, 2021): Last week, members from the East Avon Volunteer Fire Department visited with fifth and sixth grade students. Cindy Kellen began the outdoor presentation by communicating to the students information about home smoke detectors, how to prevent fires at home, and the importance of establishing a family fire escape plan. Students also observed a demonstration of a firefighter using a hydraulic-extrication rescue tool, also known as the “Jaws of Life.” This tool is used in emergency situations, particularly in car crashes. It is most often used to pull drivers and passengers out of damaged vehicles after severe traffic collisions. Students also were able to see the fire truck’s ladder and learn how it is used to fight fires.
The Middle School Musical Production of You Ain't Nothin But A Werewolf will be performed by our middle school students on Friday, October 22nd at 7:00 pm and Saturday, October 23rd at 2:00 pm. Tickets are on sale for $10.00.

SchoolTool Parent Portal
SchoolTool: In order to access your child’s progress reports and report cards, you will need to have a parent/ guardian portal account in the district’s school management system, SchoolTool. A parent/guardian portal access guide to SchoolTool is posted below to assist you in establishing your parent/guardian portal account. Once you have a parent/guardian portal account, you will have access to not only your child’s grades, but also to his/her attendance, daily schedule, behavioral reports, and state assessment scores. If you encounter any difficulties acquiring or accessing your parent/guardian portal account in SchoolTool, please feel free to contact Jim Ellis, the ACS Technology Coordinator, at jimellis@avoncsd.org.
