News to Know
Happy Holidays
Winter Break begins at 12:05 on Tuesday, December 22, 2015! We hope you have a safe and happy holiday with your family and friends! We will see all students back on January 5, 2016!
Cold Weather
The weather is getting colder, so make sure your child is dressed appropriately to go out to recess. Outside recess is only canceled if the temperature drops below 20 degrees.
Boys and Girls Club
There will be no after school care for Boys and Girls Club on December 22. Please call the office to make arrangements for those two days if you have a child(ren) who attend Boys and Girls Club.
Shakespeare's Pizza Fundraiser
It’s the same pizza as the restaurants, it just went through a freezer instead of an oven. The same recipe, the same ingredients, the same stuff that tops the polls every year. Help support Pioneer Trail's PTO and have a great pizza while you’re at it. Pizza order forms will come home on Friday, January 8 and need to be returned on Friday, January 15. There are nine varieties of pizza to choose from all for $12.00 each. Pick up for all orders will be on Saturday, February 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

What were the rules when you were in elementary school?
No running
No talking
No hitting
At Pioneer Trail, our expectations, or rules, are all positively stated. This is a BIG part of our Positive Behavior Support program. The goal is to teach and tell students what we want them to do, not what we don't want them to do. The more time and attention we focus on the correct behavior, the better behavior we get in return.
The same rules as above at our school sound like this:
No running - Use walking feet
No talking - Voice level zero
No hitting - Keep all hands feet and other objects to yourself (KAHFOOTY)
Our expectations do focus on school, but there are not just school rules! Being KAHFOOTY is a good lesson for life. Using polite and kind words is a life skill we should all try to do better at. When you talk about school rules or expectations, relate them back to real life. It can help for kids to understand why it is important to be the best they can be everyday.
