Accessing NCWiseOwl Gale Databases

This tutorial will provide step-by-step instructions to access Gale Databases in NCWiseOwl.
The State of North Carolina provides a valuable resource for all students---NCWiseOwl.
This database can be accessed by simply typing ncwiseowl into any search engine. Click on NCWiseOwl to open the database. You will be prompted to provide a password for NCWiseOwl. Contact your teacher or school library media specialist for this password - they can email you the password. You can also access NCWiseOwl from your school library media webpage.
When you access the site, you will be at the NCWiseOwl landing page with blue boxes.

- You can chose the type of content you wish to start with:
Featured Content, Reference, Images, News, Biographies, Magazines, Academic Journals, etc. In this example, you can see there are almost 4,000 news articles on vaping.
- You can choose the article you want by lexile/reading level - look at the colored "dice": "5-dots" is a more complex article than a "3-dot"
