Spanish

"This week in Spanish 1B, we practiced describing our family members using adjectives (descriptions, characteristics, emotions and conditions) using the verbs Ser and Estar (two verbs that mean “to be” in Spanish, but are used under different circumstances). We completed a family tree mini-project and used that as the springboard for our Quarter 2 presentational speaking assessment (Standard 1: Communication). Also, we investigated, analyzed and compared and contrasted the cultural traditions of “Acción de gracias” in Puerto Rico. I hope you all have a restful Thanksgiving Break and if you think of it, please ask your student what they wrote on their hand cutout on our “Damos gracias por…” bulletin board in the World Language hallway.”

iReady Days at CMS

iReady Testing to be condensed to four mornings!

Historically, we have tended to our iReady testing for Math and Reading by having students take their iReady assessments during ELA and Math classes -- ostensibly, "eating up" numerous instructional days with testing. For our next round of iReady (the Middle of Year (MOY) diagnostic), we will be tending to the testing in a different, school-wide way (on the mornings of four different days). See the details by clicking this link. Please read the important reminders (particularly, that all students need to be sure to have earbuds/headphones handy) and note that our school day starts as normal at 7:30 on all of the iReady Days.

If you have any questions, please let us know (particularly by way of our School Assessment Coordinator, Mark Wakefield, at mdwakefield@dcsdk12.org). Happy Thanksgiving to our whole Cresthill Community!

Donations Needed - 2nd Quarter

Hi Cresthill Families, you have been asking us about how you can help us out. We have attached a Signup genius of items that will help us make it through the day. If you are able to donate an item we would really appreciate it. Donations can be brought into the office. Thank you for showing your support.

Supporting Cresthill

We appreciate the support of our community. Cresthill does not have a PTO program and we limit fundraisers. We do rely on your generosity and support with these programs:
Do you shop at King Soopers? Did you know that King Soopers offers community rewards? WE have approximately 110 families who have designated Cresthill to receive funds. We would love to increase that number. The quarterly checks we receive from King Soopers really make a difference to our school budget.

Once logged into your King Soopers or City Market account go to:

Savings and Rewards > King Soopers Community Rewards then you can search for Cresthill Middle School either by name or YJ180 and then click Enroll.

New users will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address and a loyalty card.

Thank you!
