Grade 2, Grade 3, and Grade 4 Hybrid Return
This was an extra special week for us as we had the opportunity to welcome our students from grades 2, 3, and 4 back in their hybrid schedule. It was an unbelievable feeling having them in the building, being able to talk to them, visit their classrooms, watch them play at recess, and eat lunch together in the cafeteria. So many of them shared how happy they were to be back at school! This week specially reminded me why we chose this profession and how much it means to me to be around your kids. I have always loved my job and I really had missed these "real" days at school!
Thank you so much for all you've done to prepare your child(ren) for their return to school. Students have been exceptional following the social distancing rules, wearing masks, using the hand sanitizers, and all other new COVID-19 protocols. It truly shows a partnership between us and the intent that together we can find success in this new reality.
I also know that this week has been an adjustment to you with the asynchronous days at home. I ask that you give yourself the time and grace to adjust once again to a new routine and expectation. Please know that although our teachers are not live with your child, they will always be checking their emails and will get back to you and/or your student if you send them a question. I would like to emphasize that it is important that students persevere and go through productive struggle; but am confident our teachers are asking students to complete appropriate work at home so students do not become frustrated. In the event it does, please allow him/her and yourself to put the work aside and get back to it when he/she has the teacher's help at school.
I truly hope that tonight, when you have your moment of checks and balances, the outcome is that you and your family had a successful week overall. I can't stress enough how much this week meant to all of us at Cashman School, and we look forward to the weeks ahead!
Stay safe and have a great weekend!
District supported subscriptions - ST Math and RAZ- Kids
These are two great tools to support the asynchronous days at home for all of our elementary students. Our district along with PTO have invested in providing us with such tools for enrichment and retention of content. Please reinforce how important it is for your child to spend time with these tools when at home. It will make a tremendous difference in their education!
Myself and the Cashman teachers thank you for your partnership!
Friendly Reminders:
Arrival and Dismissal
If you are running a few minutes behind, starting at 8:30am, we ask that you park and walk your child to the front door. At the end of the day, you may choose to be 5 to 10 minutes early so our dismissal run as smoothly as possible. Thank you!
