Q: How do I enroll my child in the Chillicothe R-2 School District and complete the pre-registration process?
Q: If my child attended pre-school at Chillicothe Early Learning Center, do I still need to complete the pre-registration process?
A: Yes! We require all students entering kindergarten to complete the pre-registration process. This ensures that we have correct and updated information for each child and parent/guardian.
Q: What documents do I need to provide to the Chillicothe R-2 School District during the pre-registration process?
A: You will need to provide the District with the following documentation for your child:
- Proof of Age
- Proof of Residency
- Immunization Records
Q: How do I get the required documents listed above to the District?
A: You may upload your proof of residency document in the form linked above during the pre-registration process.
However, you will need to bring your child's proof of age and immunization records to the Chillicothe R-2 District Office located at 2005 Washington Street or bring them with you to Chillicothe Elementary School during your child's scheduled kindergarten screening (see screening information below).

IMPORTANT: Once you choose a time slot in the form, click the "Sign Up" button at the right AND then click the "Submit and Sign-up" button at the bottom of the screen to complete the form submission. You will receive a confirmation via email once you successfully "Submit and Sign-up."

Kindergarten Screening Health Processes and Procedures
Q: What processes and procedures will be in place to ensure the health of my child?
- All parents/guardians and kindergarteners coming to screening will have their temperature taken prior to entering the CES office. If any parent/guardian or child has a temperature of 100.4, the entire family unit will be asked to leave, and we will make arrangements to complete the screening at another date/time.
- All Chillicothe Elementary School staff that is a part of the screening team will be required to wear masks and gloves at all times.
- All materials used during the screening process will be disinfected between each student's screening.
- The screening schedule is designed to accommodate three students per 30-minute rotation to ensure that we are under the recommended 10-person per room limit.
- Masks will be available for parents/guardians and children participating in the screening to wear if they choose to wear them. However, we will not require parent/guardians and children to wear masks.

About the Chillicothe Elementary School Principal
Dr. Jill Watkins began her tenure in education in 1996. Throughout her career, Dr. Watkins has been a middle school and high school English Language Arts teacher, a secondary-level instructional coach, a secondary-level blended learning coach, a secondary-level teaching and learning coach, a district-level Instructional Technology Facilitator, a college-level instructor, a middle-level assistant principal, A+ coordinator, and a high-school assistant principal.
Dr. Watkins currently fills multiple roles in the Chillicothe R-II School District. Dr. Watkins is the Chillicothe Elementary School Principal. She also serves as the District Mentoring Coach for all first and second-year teachers as well as new teachers to the Chillicothe R-II School District, and she is the District's Professional Development Committee chair. In addition to her roles at Chillicothe R-II, Dr. Watkins serves on dissertation committees and is a dissertation editor for doctoral students enrolled in various universities across the nation.
Dr. Watkins is an avid reader, runner, and cyclist, and she enjoys spending time with her husband Wes and two dachshunds Pippa and Elsa.
Dr. Watkins earned a Bachelor of Science in English/Education from Missouri Western State University, a Masters of Education in Secondary Leadership and Administration from Northwest Missouri State University, an Educational Specialist in Superintendency from Northwest Missouri State University, and a Doctorate in Education from William Woods University.
